Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev was on CNBC this morning bubbling
enthusiastically about how the ability of anyone to use platforms like
Robinhood to invest in stocks allows anyone to get rich.
> "Becoming an investor is the new American dream, just

Home ownership is not the precisely correct historic analogy. The
most accurate analogy is the 1920s, when it was explicitly and
publicly stated and believed that anyone could share in the "American
dream" and get rich by investing in the stock market.
Switching now to Fox Business Network, Varney is saying that the
Gamestop short squeeze means that the market is now a casino.
Gamestop gained 100 points yesterday, and Varney wants to know how
many people are going to lose their shirts when Gamestop comes down to
earth.

I can remember talking to a guy around 1998 or so who had put his entire life savings of $175,000 into Hecla Mining. He had already doubled or tripled his money twice by making 2 previous "all in" bets. He had been out to visit the company and was absolutely sure he was going to strike for a third time. It sounded real good to me, as I had just purchased a few select gold mining shares myself. I ran down the list with him and he told me which ones were dogs in his opinion and why Hecla was better. Over the next few years, I watched Hecla Mining stock fall from about $5 to a fraction of a dollar. At the same time, two of my mining stocks went bankrupt and I lost tens of thousands of dollars.
I can still remember this conversation. I would name a stock and he would say with great authority, "That one is under distribution. Hecla is under accumulation."
While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.

At this moment in time, stocks and gold are falling sharply in a
search for liquidity after the Gamestop short squeeze and its chain
reaction consequences.
*** Carousel, by Jacques Brel
Carnivals and cotton candy
Carousels and calliopes
Fortune tellers in glass cases
You will always remember these
Merry go rounds quickly turning
Quickly turning for you and me
And the whole world madly turning
Turning, turning, till you can't see
We're on a carousel
A crazy carousel
And then we go around
And then we go around
And then we spin around
So high above the ground
And down again around
And up again around
So high above the ground
We feel we gotta yell
We're on a carousel
A crazy carousel
We're on a ferris wheel
A crazy ferris wheel
A wheel within a wheel
That suddenly reveals
The stars begin to reel
And down again around
And up again around
And up again around
So high above the ground
We feel we gotta yell
We're on a carousel
A crazy carousel
Carnivals and cotton candy
Carousels and calliopes
Crazy clowns chasing brass rings
Soda pops and candy trees

My trading was solid this morning in the down market. It's interesting how crazy things got during a morning where the Fed will be announcing later today.

Wall Street In PANIC MODE, Trading On GameStop And AMC Halted As Plebs NUKE Elite's Hedge Funds. The move by WallStreet Bets could totally destroy billion dollar hedge funds.
It took Democrats and Republicans months to negotiate a stimulus package and now the government is being hoisted by their own petard.
Many people are dumping bits of their stimulus into stocks that will "short squeeze" wealthy elites trigger a massive wealth transfer from the wealthy to the working class.
But Wall Street is clever and special interests put a halt on trading of the stocks that would damage the billionaires pocketbooks. Several trading apps froze trading privately trigger calls for boycotts.
The plebs have found the systems weakness and the power of online forums
