You're right that I seem to have boxed myself in on the inflation
issue. However, the reasoning was sound. Unlike predictions of wars,
predictions of inflation generally follow specific patterns, including
timing. I assumed that the supply chain problems would have eased by
now, and if that had happened then I would have been right. As things
stand now, with the war in Europe likely to cause even worse supply
issues and price spikes, especially for energy and commodities, with
the possible imposition of rationing, it looks like inflation will be
around longer than expected. That's what comes from living on the
edge.
Thanks, John.
I guess I can drop my topic, then, since you have basically folded.
I give you credit for admitting reality trumped your theory.

Given that the Russia central bank had their Dollars and Euros "frozen", and China might want to someday invade Tiawan,
China needs to get rid of all their dollars and Euros. There should be other central banks that realize gold or Bitcoin can't be
seized and so might be better reserves for a central bank.
So dollar demand really ought to go down. I think when history books write about the end of the dollar as a reserve currency they will mention this freezing Russian dollars as a key event.
Interesting thoughts
This further illustrates the lack of deep thought amongst Western powers for a long time, or perhaps they did think but didnt have the 'back bone'

So don't be hard on yourself. There's no question in mind that your medium to long term prediction of deflation is correct. Its just the "squiggly" route it takes on getting there which makes the timing prediction very difficult. We have both been seeing a serious distortion in the system for a very long time; in my case from about 2006 and longer in your case. If the world was being run by a competent generation there would have been a reasonably prompt correction. But thats not the case, so the correction I expected didn't happen in my expected time frame, BUT IT WILL HAPPEN

MULN (Mullen Automotive) the past few days.
They have about 35 million outstanding shares yet in the last 3 days have traded over 1 BILLION shares. Unbelievable.
Seems like unlimited millions of counterfeit shares are being allowed to be traded and of course not a peep from SEC.
Naked shorts is sheparded by the SEC one could assert.
NASDAQ:MULN) short percent of float has fallen 29.46% since its last report.
The company recently reported that it has 666.40 thousand shares sold short,
which is 4.19% of all regular shares that are available for trading.
Based on its trading volume, it would take traders 0.7 days to cover their short positions on average.

For Higgie:
It does seem that the recent bear market rally is over and that the S&P 500 will continue its descent. The question as always is at what point will it crash?
Higg, do you think that we have reached a crash trajectory yet?
