This is speculative, but I think it might also be possible to create
decent looking fabrics that repel viruses. Another possibility is
some kind of spray that you apply to your clothing in the morning and
it repels or kills viruses all day long.
Ah,.. virocidic (?) cloth!!

Yeah, that IS super-annoying.

HOWEVER, if you google the words "Bacteria-killing nanofibers," then
you get many other articles that provide the same information for free.

Surprisingly, if you google "Bactria killing Nanofibers" you get the same thing!

..obviously, somebody has it out for those Bactrians, too.

Of course, it could be that there is a current genocide being committed on microfibers in Bactria. That would certainly be news to me.

Do you (guys) know anything about this apparently generational animosity between microfibers and Bactrians?

Anyone think the virus was leaked on purpose by China?

Oh look, the Chinese had a lethal virus leak out of their Level 4 bio lab in Wuhan. Stupid Chinese can't do anything right!

Making it look like an accidental leak in China while knowing it would get to the United States is the perfect first shot in a war.

China being a communist totalitarian country, knew it could contain the virus easy and the United States could not. If I was China I would wait until the virus has spread and taken hold all over in the United States to the point where it is in Italy right now then launch the surprise attack.

If the outbreak was a panic in China why was the PLA not deployed everywhere?
I don't believe the virus was leaked on purpose.

I have worked in Government for decades. People think that governments excel at conspiracy. They don't. What governments and bureaucracies excel at is INCOMPETENCE.

This whole thing was created by a bunch of arrogant incompetents that were fooling around with known bad viruses and DNA. One of them failed at containment protocols (if there even were any), and went to the Wuhan food market on the way home.

No way would any government release something like this on purpose, especially in their own country.

Of course, what we saw from the initial reactions in China was what could be expected from a bureaucratic government, INCOMPETENCE.
The idea isn’t that far fetched.

Bio warfare has been used in the past. People using smallpox infected blankets to kill others.

Maybe the Chinese leaders saw a threat and panicked with their collapsing economy and Hong Kong protests.

Here is the routine for bio-warfare:
1. Develop a super nasty virus
2. Develop an antidote (or already have immunity for your side)
3. Deploy among the enemy population
4. Allow disease to ravage enemy population.

If this was indeed bio-warfare, the Chinese only managed to complete step one.

Westerners were able to use smallpox to take out indigenous native Americans because they had high immunity to it (while the targets had zero immunity).

No one would release a bio-weapon in their own population first. Not even incompetent people. And certainly NOT without the antidote available. You would want it to be ravaging the enemy population while you inoculated your own people.

However, incompetent people would complete step 1, and then, through incompetence, release it in their own location.

4d chess.

If they did that we would know they were attacking us and would suffer from retaliation.

China can lock down its cities and subjugate its population in a way the rest of the world cannot. Even if China lost half its population to the virus they end up in better shape.

John has said in the crisis people do not think rationally. Today you can look back at the Pearl Harbor attack or hitler attacking Russia and think what a stupid idea that had no chance.

I think the war has started but we don’t know it yet.
