Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
With the electoral college close, we could still see a House decided election. If Biden only got 270 electoral (which is what it is looking like right now, what he has plus Nevada), all it would take is a single democratic faithless elector. Last time there were 7.
It could be one from Hawaii voting for Sanders instead of Biden or one from Washington voting for Sitting Eagle. This is what happened last time.
Then we would go from the Dems thinking for weeks that they had won, only for them to feel that victory had been snatched from their hands as the House votes by state and 26 go Republican. The left would go berserk.
I don't think there is much of a chance of overturning a states election status. There would have to be almost immediate proof of massive fraud.
And, as John points out, whoever wins will be the "owner" of the most catastrophic economic meltdown in history, followed by a World War. If the Dems win, they will forever be known as the party who took things from bad (WuHu flu lockdowns) to much much worse (depression, global war). It would break them politically.

Hopefully, this will radicalize the people and allow the far right to sweep into power.

Actually, the opposite is true. Whoever is president will become a
hero, like FDR or Lincoln.
hero, like FDR or Lincoln.
Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
Or Hoover or Buchanan or Asquith (Brit WW1 starting PM).

Those people had to suffer first.
Hyperinflation, starvation, homelessness. For years.

I apologize for being sarcastic. I too find the liberals so out of touch with logic and reality as to make my head spin.
I cannot in any way fathom a Biden or Harris becoming a hero.
People become heroes by being seen as someone that has led them to a victory that someone else started.
The Democrats in the south started the Civil War by firing on Ft. Sumter. Lincoln then led the country to victory.
FDR was able to place blame for the depression on Hoover, then stayed in power until the country eventually recovered economically, in spite of FDR's actions that actually PROLONGED the depression. He certainly didn't start WW2, but the tide turned very quickly in American favor once we were in it.
We are far past the point of no return on an economic meltdown. Whoever the president is when it happens will take the blame for it.
The coming war will be like WW1, much more so than WW2. We will not be immediately victorious. It will be a long hard slog. And if we go through a couple of years of defeats, reverses and disasters, like Asquith did for Britain in WW1, the president will get thrown out. By an election, or by congress out of extreme desperation.

Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
WW I was a non-crisis war. The next war will be a generational crisis
war, like WW II. If the country is facing an existential crisis, then
a scenario will be found to select an appropriate leader. For
example, Biden might appoint someone to lead the country through the
war in his place. Anything like that will be acceptable to everyone,
if the country is in danger of being defeated.

I understand that GD says when the time comes America will unite behind whoever is the President and put aside all differences to fight.Navigator wrote: Wed Nov 04, 2020 9:05 pm I apologize for being sarcastic. I too find the liberals so out of touch with logic and reality as to make my head spin.

I understand I may be wrong, but I just don't see it.
If China hit the West Coast right now, would conservatives really be eager to die to defend it?
No matter what happens, the Biden family has been corrupted by foreign money.
$10 million from China to Hunter Biden. China is already winning the war - corrupting the Democratic Party and effectively using SARS-COV2 as a weapon.
Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
I do agree that the country would unite to fight the war.
My description of the war was not meant in a GD sense, but in a military sense. The war will be brutal with few decisive victories. A slugging match with neither side really understanding how to use modern military capabilities.
Biden could create a "generalisimo" to win the war, just by deferring all military decisions to him. Heck, FDR did that with Marshall.
But there is no Marshall available out there in the military right now. And we are going to go through a couple of years of disaster after disaster. WW1 military disasters (the destruction of BEF at 1st Ypres, Dardanelles, the Somme) led to Asquith's fall in Britain. Similar things could occur for US President (heck, if Lincoln had not found Grant, Lincoln would not have been re-elected).
Biden's big drawback is that he is the front man for the banks. He is out of Delaware and there is a reason all the banks are incorporated in that state. He has been their puppet for years, and was instrumental in making it impossible for at least half the country to declare proper bankruptcy. When the economic disaster happens, he will do everything for the banks and nothing for the common person. The banks are the ones that have the goods on him. They probably have proper documents they forced him to sign back in the 1970s to give him support. This will make him the big "bad guy" of the coming depression.
I don't see much chance of an investigation unseating him. Not if the Dems control the house. They literally will allow ANYTHING by one of their own.
But I think we have a quite a ways to go yet until this election is really decided. That will be at least until Dec 14th when the electoral college meets to vote.
