I think when something wrong is done, one should "tattle". There's more honor in upholding the truth than not. What we see in the current generations in power is the desire to tattle when it helps you, but not to tattle when it won't. Purely selfish behaviors that have nothing to do with a moral stance or some code of honor/ethics.

I can't argue with that; as far as honor/ethics are concerned, it gets into the old debate about moral relativism versus moral absolutism, and generally, moral absolutism will give us the higher truth, I think most would agree here. And, there has no doubt been the "Third Turning effect" of hyper-individualism, which has led to a lot of self-serving behavior on the part of many people in all living generations (at least beyond the up-and-coming Homelander Generation). And finally, individual temperament can have, of course, a lot to do with how one acts towards others in society and in general. Thanks for sharing the wise words. —Best regards, Marc

And if you don't keep your mouth shut, you get fired. If your boss is in a really bad mood, he'll do everything in his power to ensure that you never get another job. Under those circumstances, a lot of people are just going to keep their heads down and ignore it. It's not right, but it's how it works.

I detect that there's been a shift in many quarters in regards to admiring the "thoughtful suggestion-box stuffer" for his/her great ideas that he/she has for the company, to not exactly digging him/her for "trying to tell the big cheeses what to do." It's regrettable it's come to this in a lot of workplace environments, and it really is a form of human oppression as well as depriving organizations of ideas and talent. I suppose that a Fourth Turning will need to come and pass, and a new generational constellation will need to take hold, to really reverse this. Thanks for the cogent words. —Regards, Marc

I generally agree with this, but there is a learning factor. When I
was about 25 or so, I did something like this to someone, and I still
feel guilty about it to this day.

There's a lot of learning going on today. As much as I'm bitterly
critical about stupid Boomers and nihilistic Gen-Xers, it's obvious
that a lot more people today are say, "Whoa! This has got to stop!"
Which they weren't saying five years ago.

Wall Street is from reality:

Yeah, but the thing about a drug is that you never want one less, you
always want more, and more just gives you the same, it doesn't give
you a higher high. And so the markets are just fixated on this. We
got from the bank of England what we wanted 37:28 -- we saw today
there was a 7-2 vote for billions more. And we want the same from the
Fed. So we've had the ECB cutting rates to zero, China cutting rates,
the Bank of England stepping in, we want the Fed, we want the big boy
in town to start printing as well. That's what the markets are
desperate for.

So folks, I want each of you to do your part. Go lose your home and
your job and your savings, and go live under a bridge, so that the
economy can get well again. It's your patriotic duty!

Sad to say, but that's what it is coming to.

Have you noticed, as I have, how our monetary system over our history closely follows that of our generational cycles? I guess we are getting to the point where we care enough to take notice that the "Money Changers" are destroying our nation.

The pipeline aimed at connecting the Bulgarian Black Sea port of Burgas with the northern Aegean port town Alexandroupoli, intended to transport Russian oil from the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea bypassing the traffic-clogged Bosphorus Straits.

The decision is in line with the Bulgarian centre-right government’s stance since 2009 when it put on review major Russian-led energy projects and said it would abandon them if they did not match the national interest.

Last week Bulgaria gave the South Stream gas pipeline the status of a national project and declared it an object of national importance, providing opportunities for the speedy construction of the project. The pipeline is intended to carry up to 63bcm a year of Russian gas across the Black Sea to Bulgaria and then to central and southern Europe.

The pipeline deal was signed on 15 March 2007 after the project had been touted by successive governments for 14 years. The New Democracy government of Kostas Karamanlis claimed the victory, asserting that the pipeline puts Greece on the energy map.

On the occasion marking the sixth anniversary of the July war between Israel and Hezbollah, Israeli newspaper Ynet wrote on Thursday that Israeli Defense Forces officials painted a bleak picture of a future conflict between Israel and Lebanon, saying that it will probably entail a massive response by the IDF, including the deployment of ground forces.
Ynet said that IDF officials expressed grave concern over the future of the relative calm noted on the Lebanese border.
“Between the Islamist dawn in Egypt, the bloody uprising in Syria and the overall instability in the Middle East, the situation in Lebanon is seen as fairly stable; but IDF officials warned Thursday that as Hezbollah’s grip on the country grows, looks may be deceiving.”
