How much of the Biden Hanoi speech or other recent efforts have you caught? This is another attack based more on wishful thinking than a real problem. It's like turning a tax evasion misdemeanor by Hunter into treason by Joe. The Republicans can't develop a real complaint, so they make something up. If JFK Jr is really using such attacks, it is no wonder he is at 9%.

I am pleased that Pelosi in spite of her success withdrew from leadership to give a chance to the younger folk. I will be happy to see Biden and Trump age out as well. The boomers have had their time.

Are the Republicans campaigning on Earth 2 for an election to be held on Earth 1?

Here the Republicans state their case and provide the evidence. Do some research. You do not wear partisanship very well: https://m.youtube.com/watch?time_contin ... e=emb_logo

Pelosi (1940) and Biden (1942) were born in the silent generation (1928-1945). Trump (1946) is a "boomer" (1946-1964). It is fair to say the silent generation "have had their time". "Boomers" have another 20 years or so before it can be said: "they have had their time". Do some research it helps one's credibility.

This country is beyond help now. I have lost all hope. I wake up every morning and wonder what nonsense I am going to come across today. I am not bothered anymore I am 50 so hopefully I won't be around for too long but I do worry about what it will be like when my kids are old. They are grown up now and are doing well but to be honest I feel sorry for all young people today.

Odd Ends

I figured I’d catch a few news programs, to pick up how to respond the Biden impeachment complaints. Nothing. They just stuck with the ‘they have got nothing’ theme. A Trump appointed prosecutor spent years looking for a crime. He found two misdemeanors that normally aren’t persecuted. I suspect the defense will include that as they are not normally prosecuted, they are a partisan witch hunt that would not be charged if his last name were not Biden. I don't know. The laws against insurrection, impeding government functions, impersonating federal officers and stealing access to voting machines aren't commonly charged either.

One point was that the Biden’s house was too expensive under Biden’s salary, but there is no talk of Jill Biden’s salary. Wiki noted she was the first First Lady or Second Lady to hold a salaried position during her husband’s tenure.

Hunter is suing a Trump official for illegally accessing computer information (the contents of the laptop) in violation of computer privacy laws. That ought to be interesting.

Hg Guest seemed concerned about young people today. One segment last night featured a child tax credit that took a large number of children out of poverty status. It lasted one year. When it came time to renew it, every single Republican in congress voted against it. The children went right back into poverty.

There is a plan for them. Let's hope they choose God over the other plans that many of these sad, lost "leaders" (who think they have it all, including some idiotic sense of immortality) have in store.

I am a generation older than you. I have not experienced the horrors of World War II or I or the American civil war (from your subsequent post, I gather you are British). Yes, there is a psychological game at play here. But nothing that could compare to the aforementioned horrors of war and the associated psychology trauma experienced by our ancestors. I encourage you to think positive. Your children will adapt and survive.

Here I can agree with Jdcpapa a bit. If from a theory angle, on each crisis the worst problem with a culture is addressed, the problems for the next time around are less.

Of course, when the bish and the people he covers for go away, the problems will as well - which is telling.

In the American series of crises, something collapses, and those who were oppressed receive a new birth of freedom. With the Revolution, colonial imperialism and noble privilege collapsed in America, and in the process came independence and freedom. With the Civil War slavery collapsed and power switched from the landowners to the robber barons. Many got more equality and opportunity. In FDR’s time, the government regulated the economy, and organized containment.

In each of these, the conservative effort to remain the same collapsed, and new values and policies that solved the crisis were established and passed on. The society thrived.

So what are the crisis issues of today? In Black Lives Matter there was police prejudice killing and spree killing of not just black minorities, protesting toward an end of prejudice and more equality. In abortion there was an attempt by religious fanatics to spread their religious doctrine to unbelievers, countered by a press for independence and freedom. In the insurrection there was opposition to rule of law. In Covid there was money valued over lives.

It isn’t just because one side is called conservative that that side collapses. It is not a coincidence that with the collapse of the old ideas the new ideas which resulted in ‘social collapse’ seem to many like a new birth of freedom. S&H crises are the mechanism by which a culture improves itself, with the values which forced the 'collapse' passed on in the new culture.

So go ahead. Oppress minority communities. Follow a criminal. Try to force your culture on others. Whine about the society collapsing. Has it occurred that parts of the society, those that present the most problems, are supposed to collapse? That is the whole idea?
