** 15-Nov-2021 World View: Virtual Biden - Xi meeting today

Joe Biden and Xi Jinping are going to have a "virtual summit meeting"
later today.

It's going to be a zoom call, and what I find really startling is
that it's supposed last for "several hours." What the hell
are they going to be talking about for several hours.

According to press reports, tariffs and supply chain issues will not
be major subjects of discussion. Nor are they going to discuss human
rights issues, like the forced sterilization and enslavement of
Uighurs or the crushing of democracy in Hong Kong.

Instead, the highest priority will be "rising tensions" over Taiwan.

So what are they going to discuss when they talk about Taiwan for
"several hours"? We already know what China's position is -- that
Taiwan is part of China's "core."

What will Biden say? Will he make concessions? Will he be
confrontational? Either of those approaches is potentially explosive.

According to one unnamed administration official:
> "We want to make clear our intentions and our
> priorities to avoid misunderstandings. The president will also
> make clear that we want to build common sense guardrails to avoid
> miscalculation or misunderstanding. That's how you sustain
> responsible competition."
It's hard to say what these "guardrails" will be, given that China has
been launching increasingly belligerent military exercises in Taiwan's
airspace in recent months.

It's worth noting that the situation on the China-India border has
also been worsening in recent months, as China has been massing troops
and equipment on the border near the region of India that China is
claiming. However, it's not expected that Biden and Xi will even
mention this situation.

Steve Bannon has officially surrendered and livestreamed himself at the courthouse where he turned himself in, telling viewers "focus on signal, not noise, this is all noise".

To quote an anon on 8kun, "Steve Bannon is the #1 CCP dissident organizer in America. Now he's riding the pine in an FBI field office getting processed for jail. That says a lot. The FBI is so far up the CCP's ass they can taste the dumplings they had for lunch."
That's pretty funny. Sad, too.

What's really pathetic is all these people saying: "We need to ignore China's genocide so we can get their cooperation on climate change." As if you'll get more than lip service out of them, anyway. We promise to reduce emissions immediately; they make a vague statement that theirs will peak in a decade, which they may or not follow through with. Many of those in charge right now envy China because they can just torture and kill dissidents.

The general sentiment is: "Who cares if China takes Taiwan? We got our own problems to deal with." No one's interested in another overseas conflict, not after the debacle in Afghanistan. Taiwan could make China pay a huge price for taking the island, but they can't hold them off by themselves.

I'm also reminded of the general feeling in the years before WWI: that a new conflict was impossible, that economic connections were such that no one would ever go to war, that technology had advanced to the point where everyone knew how destructive a conflict would be.

Whenever you see things related to "Climate Change" know everything related to it is propaganda.

Over the weekend, I saw a clip where the horse's ass John Kerry was
asked at a press conference about the genocide in China, and he said,
"That's not in my lane. My lane is climate change."

The Chinese have to assume that if they invade Taiwan, then they'll
soon be at war with Japan, Australia, India and the United States
("The Quad").

As I've said before, my opinion is that the war will begin with some
trivial act somewhere that escalates into world war.
