A federal operation dubbed Fast and Furious allowed weapons from the U.S. to pass into the hands of suspected gun smugglers so the arms could be traced to the higher echelons of Mexican drug cartels. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which ran the operation, has lost track of hundreds of firearms, many of which have been linked to crimes, including the fatal shooting of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry in December 2010.

This assignment was intended to be both humiliating and impossible, since the politicians were divinely healthy (immortal) and therefore produced an enormous quantity of dung. These stables had not been cleaned in over 30 years, and over a 1,000 politicians lived there. However, Heracles succeeded by rerouting the rivers Alpheus and Peneus to wash out the filth.

Here’s how McConnell explained his remarks in a speech after the election, when Republicans had taken over the House of Representatives and made huge gains in the Senate:
“Let’s start with the big picture. Over the past week, some have said it was indelicate of me to suggest that our top political priority over the next two years should be to deny President Obama a second term in office. But the fact is, if our primary legislative goals are to repeal and replace the health spending bill; to end the bailouts; cut spending; and shrink the size and scope of government, the only way to do all these things it is to put someone in the White House who won’t veto any of these things. We can hope the President will start listening to the electorate after Tuesday’s election. But we can’t plan on it. And it would be foolish to expect that Republicans will be able to completely reverse the damage Democrats have done as long as a Democrat holds the veto pen.”
ACA now deferred to 2015 to avert the 2014 elections and the collapse of our local markets. Since NAFTA and the democrats the workers lost half there medical or all, and one third of wages. Studies indicated we will not recover until 2018 for employment. The 20 billion dollar tax in the ACA has caused the largest part time only labor pool ever seen locally. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) includes a new 2.3% tax on the U.S. sale of medical devices beginning in 2013. The tax was included to raise $20 billion in revenue to partially offset the cost of the new, $1 trillion health program. As we noted here they are building 5000 Hospitals inn China this decade. The wasting process started decades ago so do not even go there on out local facts on wage structures of design.
As we seen what Andropov did and what surfaced later unscathed by design.
They are circling the herd with debt when it implodes and will claim what they want later just as the criminal intel community did over there. No accidents are there.... "But my prediction is that politicians will eventually be tempted to resolve the crisis the way irresponsible governments usually do: by printing money, both to pay current bills and to inflate away debt." Paul Krugman, Ph.D., Nobel Laureate in Economics, Professor of Economics at Princeton March 11, 2003
Example: I was fortunate enough to attend Harvard Business School for my executive education. The class that I was part of was made up of entrepreneurs from around the world. An Indian gentleman repeatedly made this statement “A fish rots from the head down.” I had never heard the saying, and I honestly had no idea what he meant. The next consolidation leg will be obvious now since Lily covered that very clearly in the collapses of zones from decimated resources in sectors of water, soil depletion rates ect...
Dear Senator X, During my life I lived in the fifth most polluted triangle region on the planet. We understand GATT, NAFTA and any other acronyn program on the Planet and the consequences of your thoughts maps clearly. We trust one thing only and that has not been heard for some time. When you give account as we all will if you are a category one thinker I wish you luck when you explain the post letter discussion on your watch.

Cyprus is resisting pressure from the European Commission (EC) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) to sell its gold reserves to finance its “bailout”.
Yesterday the Cypriot Finance Minister said that a sale of its gold reserves was not the only option under consideration to pay down its debt and that other alternatives were being considered.
Cyprus has 13.9 tonnes (c. 447,000 troy ounces) of gold reserves which are worth some 436 million euros at today’s market prices.
The international bailout imposed on Cyprus involved 10 billion euro ($13 billion) and therefore the Cypriot gold reserves are worth a mere 4.36% of the bailout.
"The possibility of selling gold is known, but only as an option," Finance Minister Harris Georgiades told reporters. He did not elaborate on what the alternatives were according to Reuters.
The government in Cyprus may realize that in the event of Cyprus leaving the euro and returning to the Cypriot pound, their gold reserves could provide support to the fragile newly launched national currency.
Now you know why the paper tigers will do anything to hold it down.
It received from Rome the title of free city. During the Roman period Laodicea was the chief city of a Roman conventus, which comprised twenty-four cities besides itself; Cicero records holding assizes there ca. 50 BC. We are told in Revelation 3 of the 7 Churches. The last church or church age is symbolized by the Church of Laodicea. Laodicea means "the rights of the people." Thus, this was a church governed by the will of the people, rather than the will of God. This is the church age from which the Antichrist and the False Prophet will emerge. It is the church age Paul talked about that would not endure sound doctrine. Many of Laodicea's inhabitants were Jews, and Cicero records that Flaccus confiscated the considerable sum of 9 kg of gold which was being sent annually to Jerusalem for the Temple (Pro Flacco 28-68). I continue to monitor the church's faithfulness to the teaching of the Word of God, realizing that the church of the last days will be marked by apostasy and a falling away. This does not mean that God is not moving and doing great things but can we identify the wolves in sheep's clothing in the spirit of our age. Remember, we teach at Home for a reason and the Wolves will never understand nor care. As we are Banks and Governments will give political contributions to Socialist lawmakers members to vote in favor of giving the country away. One thing I do know if those in need are adulterated the consequeces will be certain disaster.
Notes: The term conventus is lastly applied to certain bodies of Roman citizens living in a province, forming a sort of corporation, and representing the Roman people in their district or town; and it was from among these that proconsuls generally took their assistants. Such corporations are repeatedly mentioned, as, for example, at Syracuse (Cic. in Verr. II.13, 29, III.13, IV.25, 31, V.36, &c.), Capua (Caes. De Bell. Civ. I.14; Cic. p. Sext. 4), Salona (Caes. De Bell. Civ. III.9), Puteoli (Cic. in Vat. 5), and Corduba (Caes. De Bell. Civ. II.19; cf. Provincia).

Re: Financial topics
http://www.erstegroup.com/en/Downloads/ ... 10f734.pdfIn many countries, interest rates are near their lowest levels since records began. In July 2012, 10-year yields in the US thus reached with 1.39% the lowest level since the beginning of records in the year 1790. In the Netherlands – which provide the longest available time series for bond prices – interest rates fell to a 496 year low. In the UK, 'base rates' are currently at the lowest level since the founding of the Bank of England in 1694. In numerous countries (Germany, Switzerland), short term interest rates even fell into negative territory. Never before has there been such a low interest rate environment on a global basis.
While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.

Re: Financial topics
I started accumulating some gold stocks in my IRA today. Bought GDX, which is about 1/3 of its peak 2011 value and GDXJ, which is about 1/6 of its peak 2011 value. I will scale in more if gold stock prices continue to fall or stabilize. If they rise, then I just bought a little near the bottom. Of course if we collapse into a dark age as I expect these stocks will go to zero along with everything else.

Re: Financial topics
I think GDXJ has gone from about 160 to about 40, so about 1/4th its peak, not 1/6th.Higgenbotham wrote:I started accumulating some gold stocks in my IRA today. If we get hyperinflation then gold stocks should do well, as long as the system sort of holds together.

Re: Financial topics
How about at the current price 1/5 = 38/180. Though I was thinking high (~180) to low (~30) but didn't really say that. It looks like your chart is close only.
I don't expect these stocks to do well in the long run but the collapse probably won't be straight down either. This chart has me worried because it indicates this industry probably won't be viable in a few years.

Old topic. The chart of GDXJ got me to thinking.John wrote:Dear Higgie,
The hypothesis is that Bass, Paulson and Burry were simply lucky.
There were thousands of people trying to make money in the real estate
market, and some of them were bound to do well just as a matter of
luck, and those three were the lucky ones. Once they lucked out, then
they made up some facts to explain their success besides luck. That's
the hypothesis.
Does anyone have any evidence that this hypothesis is wrong?
John
All 3 of these guys have been bullish on gold for a couple years if memory serves correctly and I do not think they were in from low levels nor did they sell. I vaguely remember reading this week that Paulson's gold fund has lost 65%.
John, this seems to be further evidence that your hypothesis is right. If any one of these 3 guys really could predict markets with the accuracy that they predicted the real estate market, they would not have been caught. If they ride it out, they may well be lucky one more time.
