A question as I am new here. What are the chances according to generational theory that the USA could descend into chaos and civil war. The government is completely disconnected from the people. Anger is rising everywhere, you can feel it. What is the consensus here ?

My personal view is that this can't happen. We've had a Civil War
that pitted the South against the North, but there was a very clear
geographical fault line.

Today's chaos is really generational, with no clear vertical fault
line, so there's no chance of a civil war. To put it another way, if
you wanted to start a civil war, then who would you shoot at?

However, there is a clear fault line between the Latinos and the
Yankees, and this could well spiral into a major war in America's
southwest.
