Yep, seems like a new crisis every day now. China and Taiwan, China and Malaysia, North and South Korea, and so on. I'd bet even if this doesn't spiral, China is using this as an opportunity to gain experience with their military through all the drills they're launching; it's currently their biggest weakness.

Btw, I have a question: where did the "Country Studies" part of the website disappear to? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

I live in Seoul, South Korea, within range of NK rockets and artillery.

Everyone I know here just carries on as usual. Is something being reported in the American or European press that I have been missing? People here barely even mention NK in conversation in Seoul, yet the foreign press acts as if war is a few hours away. I don't believe anything will happen with NK.

What do others on this board think? (Just curious.)

The web site was attacked by hackers a couple of weeks ago. I've been
bringing pieces of it back, one piece at a time. I'll try to get to
the Country Studies piece as soon as possible. There's evidence from
IP addresses that the hackers were from China. If true, then I don't
know whether to feel honored or scared to death.

John - A question about the possible Chinese hacking. Was there something posted that could have upset them ? and like what? Or do you think it was just mischief?
On a different note - in my Secret Space Program posting one of the other comments not listed had to do with the concept that if 2% only 2% of a population believe or work on an issue they can change events.
Personally, I think there is some kind of battle being waged, and many of us on this site are involved in some way.

I don't really blame South Koreans for not hiding under their beds out
of fear of a N. Korean attack. It's not like there's anything that
they can do about it. Que será será - what will be will be -- and in
the meantime, just carry on with life.

From the point of view of Generational Dynamics, I can tell you
for sure that a war is coming, but I can't tell you whether it
will be next month or next year or later. So in the meantime,
just try to get through the day.

I guess you don't read my Web Log very much. I've been extremely
critical of China's "Lebensraum" policy, using its vast military
power to bully its neighbors into giving up its own possessions
in the South China Sea. And I've frequently written about
China's plans for preemptive attack on the United States.

I guess you don't read my Web Log very much. I've been extremely

Sorry if I missed some of you comments, I recently got back to internet land after enjoying the last month of summer.
I did not think of it that way -- You are right, you ARE a problem.
Question, who reads your site? I am NOT asking for an answer.

Observation -I made a comment to tx2 on March 14 regarding some Chinese history and asked a question, if he was familiar with the Chinese pyramids etc.
He has not responded, has he been busy? did he not want to respond? or has something happened?

Years ago, before the "Iranian" issue developed, an Irian friend of mine mentioned "issues" regarding the Iranian government.

I am certain that you have said enough and plenty to get Chinese spam bots pointed your way. I can't think of any other site that has as vociferously as you been predicting warfare from China. I know that none of my colleagues in the international affairs or the military arena want to give it much credence. Even those actively planning for such contingencies. There is too much belief still in the Chinese desire to be a big economic player in the world. Those buying into this belief (almost all) believe China has too much to lose by involving itself militarily in anything bigger than minor international squabbles.

What they don't want to see is how fragile is the economic underpinnings of the social compact between the Chinese goverment and the Chinese people. China knows very well that if that compact is strained by failing economic conditions that war is one of the few methods of uniting a hungry, economically angry, pollution averse, disaffected populace.

Well, if you really have gotten their attention, I suppose both of the above would apply. If I was in their position, I'd want to shut this place down. Kind of makes me wonder what's going to happen to Generation Dynamics once the war's over.
