The ebola epidemic should almost be category 4. There is a peril that there will be many thousands of refugees from the three countries, fleeing the disease but already incubating it, pouring into neighboring countries and collapsing their medical systems, causing the ebola to fulminate in those countries, leading to refugees to their neighbors, until we lose all of Africa south of the Sahara.

I'm worried about losing Europe.

You may be right about the alignments you predict in the coming "clash of civilizations" war. Pat Buchanan wrote:

Not to quibble but you left out the USA as one (chief) country bombing in Iraq and Syria.
The US Pres. is now bombing in his 7th country in 6 years! What is wrong with this
Nobel Peace Prize recipient?

It's really mind-blowing -- and several people have written to me to
say the same thing -- that the Generational Dynamics predictions that
I posted ten years ago, that seemed so ridiculous at the time, are now
coming true before our eyes.

You make a very good point, Lea. It's hard to overestimate the
stupidity of the people who voted for Obama and still support him and
his whiny attorney general, the two of whom have done a great deal of
damage.

The only good thing is that the stupidity of the buffoons at the Nobel
prize committee is plain for all to see.

Over the years I've been called all sorts of names, from psychopath to
racist, for my criticisms of Obama's policies, and it now turns out
that everything I wrote was completely correct, and the idiots who
criticized me were completely wrong.

I don't think WHO has a category 4, but you're absolutely right about
the seriousness of this situation. I've been trying to think about
how this situation could end in any way that isn't the biggest
disaster since WW II, and I can't. Ebola will infect everyone in
Liberia and Sierra Leone at least, and it's only a matter of time
before it spreads to other underdeveloped countries, particularly
where there are megacities packed with slums. I've been wondering
what was going to end up being the trigger for the next world war, and
Ebola might be it. And once the world is at war, then Ebola won't be
stopped anywhere, because the global health infrastructure will be
destroyed.

I've previously estimated that the next world war would kill some 3
billion of the world's 7 billion people -- from war, famine and
disease -- and Ebola may turn that into an underestimate. You may
have to revise your science fiction story.

Nothing is wrong with him... he is getting exactly what he asked for. He spent 5 years bowing to every cheap thug dictator, and Arab/Muslin Sheikh/Imam that he came in contact with. He conveyed to the Russians in Seoul in 2011 that the only restriction upon what he might give the Russians was the American electorate. He cut the American nuclear deterrent to 1550 weapons, on only 700 launch vehicles, and advertised America's intention to take that nuclear deterrent to 300 devices, he gave away America's MIRV multiple weapon missile technology. In five years he purged the US military of over 210 command officers -- 10 general officers, and almost 200 colonels, and RIF (reduction in force - fired) a 1000 captains, and 500 majors. And he cut and ran in the Mediterranean last year after foolishly advertising, off the cuff, that the use of chemical weapons in Syria was "a game changer." In short, he spent five years conveying to all the world how weak and impotent America is.

The world has always been a dangerous place. Past American moral rectitude -- not America's perfection -- and America's willingness to protect the helpless, has for decades given the vicious, and the heartless in the world pause for concern... they now believe him -- that America is indeed, and in fact, impotent, and weak. The monsters are no longer deterred by American might -- relax, it's just getting started -- there are some real monsters out there. He got what he asked for... see what a wonderful place the world is with a weak America.

Yes, I know there is no "Category 4". That is why I said "almost".
And as for me updating my science fiction stories, it is beginning to look like you will have to update your state of the world chart, crossing off "swine/bird flu" and writing "ebola". And turning it red.
Or black in a little while.
