In the "East China Sea" there are some tiny islands know as the "Senkaku islands" in Japan, the "Tiaoyutai islands" in Taiwan. and the "Diaoyu islands" in China. They are located between Okinawa and Taiwan. Mainland China is on the far side of Taiwan. The USA and Japan have treated these as part of Okinanwa/Japan's territory for more than 100 years. Recently mainland China has claimed them and Taiwan also claims them.

These rocks could be where the fighting starts.
