Quite the comedy!

The phrase, "Hoist on his (their) own petard!" comes to mind. Tyrannies tend to arrange things so that "inertia" works FOR them, and to make "change" as difficult as possible.

..and,.. BACKFIRE!

Let the LAUGHS continue!! <chuckle, chuckle, chuckle!>

Since Robert Mugabe resigned, do you think this would count as an awakening climax? The reaction of the Zimbabwean people certainly appears to make this the case.

It looks like it, but the "old guard" is still in charge as before, so
it will take a few weeks to figure out what's going on.

Ian Smith was not a racist.

Smith knew enforcing "one man, one vote" on a civilization that used tribal chiefs to govern would be a disaster. The Rhodesian government consulted with the tribal chiefs while in power.

Pure democracy didn't work for a population that didn't read or write and lived a traditional African life. How could they comprehend a constitution? How could they be expected to look beyond the scope of their small tribe?

The Rhodesian military was mostly black African. Conscription was only for white Rhodesians. There were more black millionaires than white millionaires in Rhodesia.

Funny how Mugabe's rule came to an end almost exactly ten years since Ian Smith's death on Nov 20 2007.

Africans continue to prove on a daily basis that they are incapable of governing themselves. And now they are pouring into the West to drag it down to their level and destroy it.
