IN may day you could not graduate from the California public school system without passing a swimming test. As I recall, our high school class had to go down en masse to the Fleischacker Baths,which were cold seawater, for the lessons.

I think swimming is a survival skill everyone should have to learn.

There was an article a few days ago about movie theaters selling fewer tickets at higher prices.

Higher end clothing retailers like Nordstroms have been doing well lately.

Apparently the concentration of wealth has reached the point where you don't need the mass market to thrive. If 20% of the people have 80% of the wealth, you can do just fine selling to them, even with 10% unemployment.
