I PM'd him a few days ago for same reason, but haven't heard back. Maybe Higgie knows more.
I encourage those who believe in such things to pray for John, we owe him a lot.

Has anyone heard from John? He hasn't posted for almost 2 months.

It is proposed that chronic lead exposure led to violence and crime.
Pooh.
It is known that fatherlessness leads to crime (and a lnumber of other undesirable things), whether in people or elephants.

Thanks to the welfare state, which penalizes men in the home.

That must be some damn good Kool-Aid, Bob.
See? MAGA supporters can convince themselves of anything.
I said "must be" because I haven't drunk any, therefore I don't know with certainty. But I know which way I'd bet.

On another note, you are obviously obsessed with the word "MAGA." I'm pretty realistic, more conservative than some, more liberal than many, yet I don't have a clear grasp of what a "MAGA" is. Would you be good enough to tell us, definitively ,what you mean by "MAGA?"

One good source nowadays is WalMart or any chain having problems with organized retail crime, which is pretty much all of them. For the most part, they are shuttering stores in blue states where crime is out of control and opening new stores in red states.
I did a Google search on 'blue state population decrease' and can confirm that the dozens of articles exist. If curious, repeat the search.

Another poster already showed everyone that Biden admin crime stats are fraudulent. You refuse to accept it.

I bet you believe that "crime is at a 50-year low".

Next you will be quoting Russian and North Korean government stats...
Of course. No source. If conservatives don’t like real world data, they make something up. You can’t take them seriously.

I looked up the crime rate and if you squint at the chart, we are at a 50 year low. Barely. Sorta.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_ ... States.svg

I don’t know if you are aware of the link between the crime rate and lead additives in gasoline? It is proposed that chronic lead exposure led to violence and crime. This is supported by the crime rate going up when lead was added to gas, and dropping when it was removed, as well as medical opinions. Lots of other factors. The auto industry is trying to suppress the theory as it reflects poorly on them. Still, looking at the 50 year crime history, the huge bump in crime corresponding to leaded gas is obvious. We are just now coming down from that peak, a peak which makes the Trump bump look small. The bump is about 50 years. Perhaps it has little to do with economics, immigration or minorities. It might reflect another issue entirely.

Seattle (SEA-TAC) is where I grew up, and Seattle has because a crime-ridden, filthy hellscape. Crime and homelessnes are off the charts. Tacoma is much worse. It wasn't like that in the 80s and 90s.
I did a quick check of the Seattle crime rate. Rather than off the charts, the chart is rather flat. You can see the George Floyd bump during the Trump years easily enough. It is the most significant feature in the chart. Still, the line seems to bounce around the same level. There is no big change.

Again, if an piece of data is being offered, could a source be provided?
One good source nowadays is WalMart or any chain having problems with organized retail crime, which is pretty much all of them. For the most part, they are shuttering stores in blue states where crime is out of control and opening new stores in red states.
In 2023, Walmart closed 24 stores across 14 states and Washington, D.C. That's significantly more than the 15 store closings the retail giant had planned. The chain attributes the closings in part to shoplifting and organized retail crime.

Walmart is shuttering 8 US locations in 2024. See the list.

California:
2121 Imperial Ave. in San Diego
605 Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon
2753 E. Eastland Center Dr. in West Covina
4080 Douglas Blvd in Granite Bay (Neighborhood Market)
40580 Albrae St. in Fremont

Maryland:
1238 Putty Hill Ave in Towson

Ohio:
3579 S. High St. in Columbus

Wisconsin:
7025 W Main St. in Milwaukee (Neighborhood Market)

The company plans to open or begin construction on 14 new locations this year.

Here are the confirmed openings:

Texas;
Preston Road in Celina (Dallas area)
16600 FM 423 in Frisco (Dallas area)
McKinney Street in Melissa (Dallas area)
8927 Fry Road in Cypress (Houston area)

Georgia:
Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Atlanta (Neighborhood Market)

Florida:
U.S. Highway 98 East in Santa Rosa Beach (Neighborhood Market)

There are literally dozens of news articles in the past 2 years that have discussed this. In many of these articles, it is noted that in the blue states, store employees are told to let the thieves walk out without contacting law enforcement. Also, law abiding citizens are fleeing blue states because of crime. Having fewer law abiding citizens residing in a state like New York will mean fewer potential crime victims (and fewer law abiding shoppers), I suppose.
