I agree with Carl, by the way. In order for cycles to work, history must repeat and markets must be free. The question I've been asking myself with the stock market is how far the Fed can stretch it beyond historical norms. So that is guesswork because it's never been done before and the Fed continues to overcome natural forces. I've been bobbing and weaving and am again 200% short today. We can see that I was able to pick some highs last year but was nowhere close on this one. I had waited all the way to January 10 and thought that was a long, long time to wait. I was thinking I was patient - ha!

Once again, it's that time to look at forum sentiment. Pretty much everyone here was looking for an extension of the crash in September, October, and November. It didn't happen. Now pretty much everyone here is looking for an extension of the rally. High prices have a way of convincing that prices are going higher and vice-versa with low prices.

The stock market pros who use the VIX and other technical indicators were right once again. But now they're not so bullish as they were yesterday and previously. Meanwhile, forum sentiment around the Internet is very bullish or at least no longer bearish.
While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.

Hig - I went all in today; have been riding 25% short since 1275, had GTC in at 1335 for 50% and at 1340 for 50% of usual trade size. Short 6E 100% for a week. The increase in aircraft carriers in the gulf, increased tension of Isreal/Iran caused me to purchase 100% of yearly diesel fuel for farm operation today. I haven't looked for when the next full moon will be, but it looks like the werewolves are about to be everywhere.

You know, I worry about you Higgie. Does this mean that if the market
goes up, then you lose all your money, and end up in debt for an equal
amount?

Just out of curiosity, what could we have done if the majority of people realized what was going to happen? what could we do to lessen the severity?

From where it is now, if I hold this same size position and do nothing to reduce losses as the market rises, I will be wiped out if the S&P 500 goes to 1713. I would have no money but not owe anybody anything either.

Good for you - I think we're the only 2 people in the world left short besides the big money. I talked to a guy today who told me there is no retail left short that he knows of besides me. We recounted how I was also the only short left that he knew of at the 2007 high. That in itself is no guarantee but it is a strong indicator that we may be there or close. Full moon is: Feb 7 at 21 54 UTC. You may be interested in this video - DeMark is exclusive advisor to billionaire Steve Cohen's hedge fund.

To many savant syndroms got things all figured out in the press and for our own good to save us spending thin air. Voters absolutley
deserve the press and the big government they deserve.

Well, I just read some accusations that the new unemployment numbers may have been tampered with, beyond the usual playing around that they normally do. A drop in the black unemployment from 15.8 to 13.6 in a single month sounds more than a little suspicious to me.

More statist crap trev its 20 plus. Good luck to the shorts since apathy is spiked to the top of the chart.
We knew in the 80's "more like them" meme. It was real and Higg gave a good summary a few pages back.
These idiots never rest far left and the far right is even more fubar
