Having failed to understand the mechanism of money creation in a credit money world, and failed to understand how that mechanism goes into reverse during a financial crisis, neoclassical economics may end up doing what by accident...

While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.

Re: Financial topics
Obama will "concentrate" on "reducing the deficit" in the same way Obama has been concentrating on reducing the unemployment rate for the last four years, and in the same way Obama will continue, to "concentrate" on "reducing unemployment".OLD1953 wrote: If Obama doesn't concentrate on reducing the deficit as a major item in his second term, I'll be the one surprised.
A smaller percentage of the U.S. population works today, than when Obama took office, but Obama takes credit for "reducing unemployment" ( by claiming that some of the people without jobs are not really unemployed, because they do not really want jobs anyway ).
Obama will talk about wanting to reduce the deficit as the justification for doing what Obama wants to do. Raise tax rates, it is to reduce the deficit. Cut Social Security and Cut defense spending, it is to reduce the deficit. Changing the insurance rules so that insurance companies ( and Medicare ) pay to keep older people comfortable while they die, rather than having insurance companies ( and Medicare ) pay to cure older people when they are sick. That too will be to reduce the deficit. The U.S. Government will increase deficit government spending to "Invest" in human capital ( food stamps, medicaid, more money for Teachers Unions ), all these increases in deficit spending will be, according to Obama, investments to grow the economy at some future date, long after the end of Obama's second term.
Obama will increase U.S. government spending, increase the debt as a percentage of GDP, and at the same time claim to have "reduced the deficit", because it could have been even worse. None of this will surprise anyone.
What would truly shock and surprise everyone is if the U.S. economy grew at the same rate, and the number of jobs grew at the same rate, as they grew in the second term of Ronald Reagan.
Now that would be a surprise.

I was having that view again from a chart that will digress from to many peoples reality.
This source will clarify it some H and as we have moved on to that process to clearing.
http://www.neweconomics.org/publication ... -come-from
I will not define reality tonight since the sun coming up in a few hours is enough for me today.
And the thought of many other people in tribulations.
Kydland and Prescott 1990 also at the end of there paper is worth review.
As for the spend to solve just let them alone since they are not value added souls.
I found this compelling: It would take 77 days to watch all 221,595 election TV ads aired in Ohio, but the data indicates that there was no return on either party’s investment. Had Romney named Ron Paul as his running mate and Paul picked up just the number of primary votes he received; Romney would have won Ohio, Virginia and New Hampshire. As Wolf also conveyed beliefs that standing for freedom brings people together and Liberty is popular.
The President will serve the term and noted 10 percent increase over 10 years for revenue on the 16T I noted and the press said twice as much as noted from the other party. I note poisoned wells in many areas and people going forward. Pity them since life is so short.
Many Independants seen that the Doctor made some sense than a few demographics would entertain. Many considered the time spent on foreign soil was
uncalled and unhinged. Tit for Tat is not sound policy given the actual intell of them then us in the region. A few already know this and many could care
less since they could not find it on a map if you pressed them on it anyway some noted. I have yet to hear any one with a sound reason why we are still
there other than 2014 and safe for democracy. I have two retired military in the family. No need to convey what it is and was about since we covered that.

Reagan was ambushed by the senate on spending and very upset with them. The State department was stunned how inept he was on foreign policy as was
commented. I think he was a good guy who was a democrat and followed pricipals he knew very well since he understood how business functioned.

Re: Financial topics
Inept? He was probably the best foreign policy president we've had in the last 60 years. Sure, he went against what the left wanted, but that's why the USA came out on top. The current admin is nearly as bad as Carter (will eventually prove to be worse... Carter was stopped before he could do any more damage).aedens wrote:1981 - "If we can control spending and shave a few points off the inflation rate, we can do more good for the poor, the elderly, and the finances of State and local government than any package of Federal programs ever could." - President Reagan, March 9, 1981Reality Check wrote:OLD1953 wrote: If Obama doesn't concentrate on reducing the deficit as a major item in his second term, I'll be the one surprised.

Seriously, point out an example of Regean's "inept foreign policy" that "stunned" the State Department. Hell, it's not like the State Department has proven to be all that adroit in the last few decades.

Re: Financial topics
Note I did not say this. The Beltway was the Beltway when he came to the office. Do you remember when
he signed the spending bill at the ranch?
In a ceremony at Rancho del Cielo, Ronald Reagan signs the Economic Recovery Tax Act. He secures a 25% across-the-board reduction in federal income tax rates over a three-year period starting in October 1981. Eventually, through this and subsequent cuts, the upper income marginal tax rate is reduced from 70% to 28%.
According to the California Healthcare Association CHA, 70 acute care hospitals closed in California between 1993 and 2003—a 13.33% drop in hospital capacity. During the same period, about 11,000 staffed hospital beds were lost (staffed beds are those which are both licensed and have the requisite staff available to care for patients). As the state's population grew by 13.44% over that decade, acute care hospital bed capacity dropped by 14.24%.
A real measure of how well a state can provide for its sick and disabled population is the ratio of hospital beds per 1,000 population. The minimum national standard set by the 1946 Hill Burton Law was 4.5-5.4 beds per 1,000 population. In 1993, California had 2.5 medical-surgical beds per 1,000 population, statewide. The California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development reports that, between 1992 and 2001, the number of licensed med-surgical hospital beds dropped by 11%, and the per-capita ratio to 2.13 beds/1,000 population. The number of licensed beds is much higher than the actual number of staffed beds. By 2003, the statewide ratio dropped to just 1.9 beds per 1,000.
Just before that comments ticked alot of people off so it was not all Reagan.

Re: Financial topics
As if no one knew this was not a agency issue? Sad state of affairs. Ok, move along, I am glad my nephew is out of theator
and others retired. They would of dealt with this earlier if security was compromised anyway.
On a serious note would it be ok to figure that the Secret Service dismissals would of been enough
to lets say ring the bell. Also we think they are to hard on Secratary Rice for the press conference
when intell is always filtered for the public good they say. No do not answer that we already know...
We get it on Security issues and the best line of the day was Reagan did not know about Contra.
Even as a Democrat I liked the guy as a person and was puzzled as a Republican. Later I came
to understand in essence he was ambushed on spending issues. When we came to understand
the scope of the arms issues that was my it figures moment anyways.

Another bar fight breaks out. Ross was berated as was Ron.
Better to wrong on paper but we know better anyway what really is going on.
All we have seen for some years is poisoned wells for some kind of self betterment disorder.
Detroit has two more Bond issue this year. We already noted the amount and documentation
of the program to displaced populations for our regional pleasure. Last figures was 28283 for metro.

We noted the process to date and the flows. No fulcrum to balance but did talk to detroit
contacts. Hospice in for Gordon and will mail file to Vermont on the teachable moment
note that was forumed. Sorry but boats in the harbour are not raising for some.
Other elements stable for now but noted drifts and as we seen another bar fight
so FUD will rule the market realm I assume. Will check the ICI data tomorrow.
