NATO

What kind of relations did NATO and Turkey have during the Cuban Missile Crisis? Everywhere I look, they have only USA-Turkey, nato is usually not mentioned. Can you at least give me a link where I could read a little bit about their relations?

I googled the words >turkey cuban missile crisis< and got lots of hits.

Khrushchev demanded that the U.S. remove its missiles from Turkey in
exchange for the Soviets removing their missiles from Cuba.

Well, Turkey is a member of NATO. Inçirlik US Air force base is one of the most important NATO bases. At the time there were almost no intercontinental missiles: so USA put in Turkey strategic nuclear missiles threatening USSR territory.
