Trach tubes go in at the base of the throat and stick out a couple of inches so that an oxygen hose of some variety can attach to it. Both of which are decidedly absent in the 'recent' photo of Chavez. Even minus the hose and wearing that puffy pullover, the tube should be visible.

You make a good point, and it supports the suspicions that the photos
are faked or photoshopped. We'll see.
