Military strikes against Syria, to what end? What is the objective? I see no manner that strategic Obama or U.S. interests are served by any military strike, as they are advertised, in advance, as abbreviated, limited in scope, and without corresponding infantry action. Any abbreviated strike only serves to open hostilities that cannot be controlled.

War is about winning, it's about killing the adversary; it is not about steeling his will against you. War is not about school yard antics - "...we'll show those guys...." It is about removing his ability to carry on hostile actions by killing him, or incarcerating him. The proposed antics in Syria do noting to remove Assad's ability to continue to carry out offensive operations. For example: post any U.S. strike, what is to prevent Assad from dispatching agents world wide to conduct covert terror operations - perhaps to drop commercial airlines at any commercial airport in the world, or perhaps to disable crude oil refineries world wide - both eminently soft targets, of which there are literally hundreds?

There are things larger than self worth the supreme sacrifice of self, Obama's diarrhea of the mouth is not one of them. This is an inept chief executive who can't keep his mouth shut who is way beyond his capability, messing with things that are way beyond his understanding - may God save us all. When merit is reviled, incompetence reigns supreme.

Syria is a sovereign country that is being attacked from within and outside their borders. What leader would not fight back? Obama maybe but few else. Assad is not a likeable guy to understate his persona. However, he is a sovereign leader doing what he can to prevent radical muslim terrorists from taking over one of the most well armed regions in the middle east.

American politicians cannot see the forest for the trees. As stated prior, to what end would an American attack lead? They do not know. Iraq led nowhere but quagmire, Afghanistan has led to nothing good. They could have taken bin Laden out in 2002 but chose not to so the war could be prolonged.

Is Syria just another excuse to use American military assets to justify increased expenditures? To perpetuate the war state?

Kerry lays down a scenario where American soldiers would invade Syria.

Obama becomes Chamberlain when he attacks the middle easy. Or would he become Hitler?

Syria is not about escalation it is about containment. Keep this in Syria. The best outcome would be for Assad to destroy the opposition entirely. Maintain his power and stability and al Qaeda gets pushed back. He loses and all hell breaks loose. Escalation time and Obama's legacy will be starting WWIII.
