The politicians are either under duress (drugged or threatened) or they have allowed the monopolists to do as they please with the American wealth and her citizens.

H -- Another facet of this issue ( or description ) is the way society ( government , etc ) treats the productive vs the unproductive -- simplistically -- the productive are taxed, ridiculed, and punished ( attacked ) -- whereas the unproductive are supported, protected and actions excused. So what would an intelligent person do? If one has scruples, --- one goes Galt?

Another facet will be the revenge facet. As things come unglued, men will be able to exact violent revenge for decades of injustice. Revenge - how sweet it is.

Why Men Are “Going Galt”: A Review of Men On Strike

It's interesting this subject has become prominent enough to be put up for serious discussion. I find the particulars more symptomatic of the bigger picture. When a civilization is in its ascent phase, it naturally favors men and conversely when it is in the decline phase it naturally favors women. This is for many reasons. One obvious one is that when a civilization is in the ascent phase, there is a lot of construction of infrastructure going on and men are more inclined toward that activity. Once the civilization goes into decline, not only is there less construction but the things that have already been constructed don't get maintained properly. All of the details in this link just serve to verify that is what is happening, that for the first time in its history the US has entered solidly and intractably into the decline phase, along with Europe and parts of Asia.

For a specific discussion of how this works in the bigger picture, when a civilization goes into decline, two things happen with regard to the birth rate. One is that the birth rate falls and the other is that the birth rate of the racial group that built the civilization falls even faster. So we have in the US the birth rate of the white population falling very fast, faster than in the US as a whole. The next part of this is that most men marry women who are younger. Therefore, if the birth rate (numbers, more accurately) is falling, men have a smaller and smaller pool of women to pick from and, therefore, the men no longer drive the marriage bargain. The link above gives many examples of this but doesn't make the connection that this is happening because the civilization is in decline. And many of the things the link points out don't seem to be a problem for the Hispanic or Muslim (or even Mormon) population in the US because their numbers are rising very fast. At least, I haven't noticed that Hispanic, etc., men are having these kinds of problems to the extent that men in the predominant population are. And all I ever hear Mormon women talk about is how great their men are. Really.

This is the type of thing that leads to a vicious cycle of decline. Once the cycle is deeply rooted and intractable to the point that the civilization is dying and soon to enter a Dark Age, a few people realize there is a problem, but by then it is too late. Everything has been set up where the only logical choice for men of any age to make is to "Go Galt" if they can.

What the article also doesn't pick up on is that men in their prime productive and earning years are starting to "Go Galt" in a different and more applicable way in terms of what Atlas Shrugged was really all about. This will be the much more immediately damaging effect. I'm getting the impression that a tipping point has been reached where it is becoming fashionable for productive men to "Go Galt". Once this happens we will probably move past the "slowly at first" into the "all at once" stage of collapse.

Higgenbotham -- there may be another way to look at it, even if this perspective has flaws and sounds sexist. --- A society in a building stage requires aggressiveness and risk taking, this is a predominantly male attribute. When things are more or less in place, maintenance, (security ) comes to the fore. The need for security is a major female attribute (desire).. hence the socialist trend -- security over risk, security squelches risk taking. Risk taking is an important requirement for creativity and growth. My wife thinks women are basically socialist, my daughter said many women her age, that she knows, late 20's early 30's, voted for Obama because he was cute. Which leads to the old concept that only men should be allowed to vote since women are emotional. hmmmmmmm

Side note --- the Hispanic and especially the Muslim community are male dominated . The Muslim "community" is very willing to take risk, hence the risk taking of terrorism to expand Islam.

Given some numbers posted and the peak local tax seisures I will try and get some feedback to the per capita spending increase
since we are trying to keep the living poor in home with the jurisdictional abstenance of collecting local property tax.
I will try to collect data to any increase if we can trend to the fisher number on every spent dollar recycled into the actual community.
Boiled down they have considered by case, and common sense since as we seen the Brits are paying dearly the displacement losses in

Why, because they contribute and do not like being poor, so it is not not a handout but a handup to capital gain for our area.
Being as hard hit as we have been we have only one net direction. The Calvary is not coming to save you and today they abused even more by

Americans are still painfully clueless about needs to there economic survival anymore. Ask Pelosi or there mindless and clueless hordes and ilk about not in my back yard semantics bent on emotional blackmail and not fact of law or contract or proper funding. Yes some Company's are ruthless and follow the political chain to its ultimate conclusion of special interest's. Rent dissipation issue's in a mixed market is life or death now and the coruption will envelope more very soon it appears to wasted capital. As we are the Internal socialist's have destoyed more economic security than the free world competion had ever dreamed of which is only brought up to pacify the simple of mind dominating the population. Mr Obama nailed there ass to a board and each party cannot see the writing on the wall about fiscal sanity or walk out the room given avarice unabated with that board nailed to there ass with mind numbing greed. Currently the Fed still spews debt is wealth, I rest my case on these insular realities of elist rambling.

What came to mind from reading your comments were the early explorers. The novel Chesapeake by James Michener brought the aggressiveness and risk taking of the men to life and showed the resulting confidence of the men, one of whom I remember Michener describing as "cocksure and prescient". I suppose today if a man wants new territory to explore he can become a nurse and get in on the Obamacare frontier.

I think there's an interplay of the factors involved.

When the descent phase is entered for whatever reason, men respond by becoming passive, which accelerates the decline, and as the decline accelerates, men become even more passive. Likewise, the HIspanic and Muslim populations increase in the host countries because they are male dominated and they are male dominated because their populations are increasing. It's a hard cycle to break either way.
