Russia wants Russian troops in Southern Ukraine, Eastern Ukraine and along the western border of Ukraine, bordering the country of Moldova.
Putin may be willing to give back Crimea, as a sweetener for the deal.
In return Russia will demand another reset.
Obama will be able to claim he saved Crimea for Ukraine, at the cost of losing all of Ukraine.
Putin also wants all those areas secured by Russian troops to vote in national Ukrainian elections - that solves Putin's big voter problem.
A win for Putin is anything that keeps Ukraine and Modova out of the EU and out of Nato, and puts Russian troops on the borders of the former Soviet Union with land access from Russia to those Russian bases.
Diplomacy is the art of letting the other guy have your way.
Is that "peace in our time" I smell cooking on the Grill ?
Will Russia put Crimea back on the table ?
