U.S. talking point - Obama's Pivot to Asia, All Talk No Walk

The United States has been justifying massive reductions of U.S. Forces based in other parts of the world, for the purpose of freeing up troops for Obama's much advertised pivot to Asia.

The concept being that the United States would transfer military forces from Europe, and the Middle East ( including Afghanistan and Iraq ), to Asia.

In fact, while tens of thousands of troops have been withdrawn from Europe, Iraq and Afghanistan since Obama was elected and the Pivot to Asia was announced, no significant number of troops have been moved to Asia.

Aircraft, Tanks and troops removed from Europe were sent to the United States, not Asia.

The only troop deployments to Asia that have been announced: a few hundred troops a year that may be temporarily sent to Australia for exercises.
