John...this latest write-up is the best analogy so far to 7.12.15 date that I've read and understood regarding why China is interested in wiping us off the face of the 3rd rock from the sun. The whole shaBANG reminds me of that, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" quote by Santayana. Thanks for your insight. Otherwise...still following your website/forum on a daily ritual basis after all these years. A,H,G, and the rest, you guys rock. :)

This post struck an emotional chord with me because I have traveled to China and even lived in Beijing for four months. My experiences with the Chinese people were mostly positive, and I was struck by their warmth, humor and resilient spirit. It truly is tragic that China's government seems bent on destroying the U.S. in an attempt to reclaim their old place as the hegemon of the world. A lot of China's hostility to the West can be explained by the Opium Wars during which China went from being the greatest and strongest power in all of East Asia to, by being forced into the international community, becoming the lowest and weakest of nations, the doormat of the West. The final step of the Communist revolution (in my opinion) has yet to be realized, and that is challenging the West for world supremacy, so that at long last China can reclaim its "rightful" place as the ruler of the nations. Your comparison with Paraguay, I fear, is definitely relevant. Just as China's experiment with modernizing itself went horribly wrong under Mao, China will be all but destroyed if it chooses to go to war with the U.S. and its allies.

I do have one question though about your analysis. China is in many respects weaker than we are, but what about our debt? Wouldn't responding to China completely bankrupt the U.S., or since we would be at war with our creditor, the debt wouldn't matter anymore?

If /when there is a global war, besides the war itself, it may very well be a big surprise as to how it is fought.

Space Command
General Kevin P. Chilton
Commander, Air Force Space Command

"The establishment of Space Command is a crucial milestone in
the evolution of military space operations. Space is a place - like
land, sea, and air -a theater of operations. And it was just a matter
of time until space was treated as such."

The debt wouldn't matter any more unless China won the war, in which
case they'd require it to be repaid after the war.

Hmmmm--

I don't know where to put this, guess this is as good as anywhere else.

From "The Journal of Eugene Delacroix" 1824 page 78 --
"Is living merely vegetating like a mushroom attached to rotten stump? " --- (( as in much of society in world today?))?
Delacroix was a very creative and perceptive individual, His diary illustrates the psychological issues faced by such a person in relation to "general society" in that he is surrounded by the mediocre. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eug%C3%A8ne_Delacroix
