CA is getting hit harder earlier than the rest of the country and this video of course may not represent a random cross section but I expect almost all know or will know someone in these types of situations. You can see the formation of the attitudes of the new Hero generation, there are even hints at desire for regeneracy discussing community and sacrifice ("not be self absorbed").

I got a generalized YouTube site with the comment "This video has been removed by the user."

There is no specific date that determines which generation you are a part of. It has more to do with your upbringing than your actual age. You are a product of your parents; they are a product of theirs. You may also have been impacted by the composition of your friends' families and by the economic history of your own geographical region.

I'm an '82er also. I consider myself part of both - although I often play down any nomad-like qualities.

I wonder if I am millennial... actually I complained a lot. I always complained things not happy in the company to my friends during lunch in weekend. Talk about the bad of my company management behind them. But I have never made any official complains to the company or in the public, hehehe . Am I having X-er or millennial trait?

One potential issue is that the Boomer/Gen-X/Millennial categories
that we talk about is based on the World War II climax in 1945.

WW II was also a crisis war for Singapore, and I assume that the war
climaxed in 1945 for Singapore as well. However, that's not 100%
certain. For example, the climax was 1949 for China, thanks to the
civil war between Chiang and Mao.

So you really need to study the history of Singapore since WW II and
identify the major generational events. For example, there may be a
specific event that signaled the transition from Singapore's
Awakening era to its Unraveling era. Move backwards 4 years from
that event, and that's probably the dividing line between Singapore's
Nomad and Hero generations (like America's Gen-Xers and Millennials).

be of help to you.

An American born in 1982 is on the cusp between Gen-Xers and
Millennials, and chances are that it's the same for you. In those

Hmm I don't know if I am correct. Let me try to define the generation in Malaysia and Singapore.

1941-1945: WW2, up to 80,000 Chinese in Malaya and Singapore were killed.
1957: Independence of Malaya.
1963: Formation of Malaysia (with Singapore, Sabah, Sarawak).
1965: Independence of Singapore from Malaysia.
1982: Mahathir becomes Prime Minister of Malaysia.
2003: Mahathir retired on 31 October 2003. Since then, Malaysia has going into a political instability and still worsening today.
2004: Lee Hsien Loong becomes Prime Minister of Singapore.

Base on the above major event, these are the generations that I can derive:

1925 - 1941: Silent Generation
1942 - 1962: Baby Boomer Generation
1963 - 1978: Generation-X
1982 - ?: Millennial Generation
