The next step in your scenario is a Napoleon or a Hitler that raise the people to action and give them a purpose. People like and need a purpose to give meaning to live. I have talked to former service men who experienced WWII some considered it the high light of there life, Vietnam veterans not so.

Political Correctness is the dogma of the few to control the many, a public thought control.( an antagonism to political correctness has existed for years if not decades ) Notice how Trump attacks political correctness and gets resounding cheers.
