So what if they do not directly affect the USA? Should we wait until they do? China conquers Taiwan, no problem. China conquers Japan, no problem. China conquers Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, no problem. China conquers India, no problem. We wait until they take Hawaii to respond?

The US did Just that in the last 4T and we were much stronger at the end of the crisis in the late 1940s than we were in 1929. Britain did the policy the boomers advocate and implement, and they were no longer a great power after WW2. I Support Policy that advances American Supremacy.

Cynic and his ilk are stupid. They would have us wait until it's too late. America has to be proactive if it is to survive what is coming.Tom Mazanec wrote:Cynic Hero 86

Without US guarantees, the moment China invades Taiwan is the Moment the Rest of Asia re-militarizes. Asia is demilitarized Today is Because the US is defending those countries For them. If the US tells them "you're on your own" demilitarization from that point forewards becomes a suicidal Policy. Boomers are imposing "blockers" on the natural flow of events. Also if China attacks India, they get nuked in response even without US involvement.Guest wrote:Cynic and his ilk are stupid. They would have us wait until it's too late. YOU KNOW NOTHING.
Asian countries are armed to the teeth. And they continue to upgrade their armed forces. Thailand has an aircraft carrier. So do the Koreans and and the Japanese. The most powerful navy in Asia (after America's) is Japan's. Asia is not Europe. The Europeans have slashed their defense budgets, ended conscription, and reduced the size of their armed forces. The state of many European armies is bad. Asian armed forces are continuously being upgraded (as much as their budgets will allow). Japan, SK, and a few other countries do look to America for help, but most don't. Does Vietnam really expect America to defend them?
I can't believe you keep writing such rubbish...

But Most of them Don't have nukes and other WMDs, and that is the result of deliberate US policy.Guest wrote:Cynic Hero 86 wrote:Without US guarantees, the moment China invades Taiwan is the Moment the Rest of Asia re-militarizes. As for North Korea, I regard it as an imminent threat, However I don't think the "suicide bomber" model Applies to NK. I Believe that Kim fully expects a war with the US to somehow end with a North Korean victory parade on the streets of Pyongyang. Same thing with Iran, they've convinced themselves since they haven't seen US military power, therefore in their eyes they see us as bluffing instead of having real strength, therefore the rogue states are overestimating their capabilities and Underestimating US and Allied capabilities.

same can't be said comparing their air forces -- then what would
happen in a bilateral regional war over the Senkaku Islands?
