Between China's growing aggressiveness and the North testing missiles again, I can see war coming this year. South Korea's government is incompetent. If the Right wing was in charge, it would be different, but the current administration is filled blind leftist fools. It's not one test (actually he was firing off rockets last month too) but the general mood in Asia. There is a feeling that President Moon is asleep and the North will take the South. I can see that. North Korea is China's baby tiger...

Yes, it was sad to see leftists take over the SK govt. But NK cannot beat SK straight-up. NK is probably about 40 years behind technologically, since they haven't upgraded their equipment in a long time. The SKs could beat the NKs with both hands tied behind their backs. SK would have naval and air supremacy almost immediately. The NK military is pretty useless aside from its massive army.

The Chinese are aware of this. If they were to help NK take down SK, they would be doing most of the work against a modern, well-trained army. Helping that little fat kid stroke his ego won't be enough of a motivation for China to help out.

Of course, I'm not saying an invasion won't happen. But if it does, NK won't be the main threat.

You're absolutely right. It's been well established that everything I
do is completely worthless, since no one is willing to pay me a salary
to do anything. Knowledge and experience are considered to be
worthless baggage, worth less than nothing. That makes me a worthless
human being.

No human being is worthless. We have all been created in the Image and Likeness of God.

Commentators on the BBC are making a big deal of the fact that these
are "short-range projectiles," and are not long-range ballistic
missiles, and so they don't violate NK's agreement with Trump.
However, the obvious point, which I'm sure you grasp completely, is
that these short-range missiles are exactly the ones that the North
would use to attack Seoul.

On the other hand, I don't believe that it makes much difference to
Kim whether Park Geun-hye or Moon Jae-in is governing the South.

The Korea problem is two fold - the small man egotist that runs one country and the other, the South, loosely run by a Socialist human rights lawyer. Given these facts I'd say the POTUS is doing the best he can without rolling out the military.

This is not what China wants. What China wants is for the US to
withdraw all its forces from the area, including the THAAD missiles in
southern South Korea. This missile test will only increase the
determination of the US government to keep its forces there, and will
also increase the determination of the South Korean government to keep
the US forces there.

Kim is Xi's vassal. Once again, Kim has disobeyed Xi's orders.

** 04-May-2019 World View: Worst Israeli-Palestinian fighting in Gaza in months

The fighting between Israel and Gaza on Saturday is the worst in
several months. The following is the sequence of events so far:

• On Friday, during the weekly border protests, two Palestinian
  military shot at Israeli soldiers, wounding two.
• Israel responded by hitting a Hamas militant post, killing those
  two militants.
• Two additional Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire.
• On Saturday morning, there was a barrage of 200 missiles from
  Islamic Jihad's al-Quds Brigades in Gaza into Israel, wounding three
  Israelis.
• Israel responded with tank fire and airstrikes, killing three
  Palestinians, including a mother and her baby daughter, according to
  Palestinians.
• The fighting continued into Saturday evening.

This is the worst fighting in a few months. There have been missiles
and airstrikes all along, but both Israel and Hamas followed a pattern
of avoiding casualties -- the Gaza rockets would land on unpopulated
land, and the Israeli airstrikes would attack militant buildings after
the occupants were warned to evacuate.

So Saturday's fighting is the first in a while that violates this
pattern, and thereby threatens to trigger a wider war. It also
violates a "peace agreement" mediated by Egypt and the UN over a month
ago.

However, Islamic Jihad issued a statement accusing Israel of failing
to implement last month's ceasefire deal, by not loosening the
blockade of Gaza as much as promised. Islamic Jihad is also
threatening to expand its rocket attacks to Haifa in the north, to Ben
Gurion airport near Tel Aviv, and to Israel's unacknowledged nuclear
reactor in the south.


The worst fighting in recent times was the 67-day war between Israel
and Gaza in 2014. Both Israel and Hamas seem to want to avoid a
repeat of that level of fighting, at least for the time being.

This month is a chaotic time is Israel's government. Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu won the recent elections, but until now has been
unable to form a cabinet or a governing coalition.

Furthermore, the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Israel
this year, between May 14 and May 18.

Furthermore, on May 14, Israel will be celebrating the 71st
anniversary of its founding.

You're absolutely right. It's been well established that everything I
do is completely worthless, since no one is willing to pay me a salary
to do anything. Knowledge and experience are considered to be
worthless baggage, worth less than nothing. That makes me a worthless
human being.

I "did" real estate for a few years. The rule is: Valuation is what is paid, not what is asked.

Nothing is worth anything until a trade has been made (as in "finalized") for it.

A two thousand dollar chunk of gold underground is worth nothing if it costs three thousand dollars to get to it. But if the gold "might eventually" be worth ten thousand dollars, it "might" be worth going after.

..without a paywall, however small, free information is worthless to the seller, however valuable it may be to the buyer, who will more than happily grab free stuff.

Renting out your brain for $1 per month "might" be worth buying for several people. Several groups of several people might make more than a few bucks, per month. Maybe.

..I would suggest clickbait "access icons" featuring bikinis, bombs, and... more bikinis. And maybe boats, but that's a personal preference of mine, so that's likely a niche market.

You might want to talk to Scott Adams ("Real Coffee with Scott Adams") as to how the brain rental biz might be made to work.
