Putin's superyacht abruptly left Germany amid sanction warnings over Russia-Ukraine tensions, report says
It's close.A yacht named Graceful and said to belong to Russian President Vladimir Putin left port in Hamburg abruptly before finishing repairs, according to reports from German media.
It is unclear what prompted the move, but the $100 million yacht's relocation from German waters to Kaliningrad, part of Russian territory, came amid fears the West would impose sanctions if Russia invaded Ukraine.

On MS-NBC this morning I saw David Ignatius, who has been a reliable
analyst for years. He said that Russia has done something very
amazing -- he's succeeded in uniting the Ukrainians, and also Nato.
Whereas the Ukrainian people used to be split between those supporting
and opposing Russia, Ukrainians are now united and furious at Russia.
And, according to Ignatius, the Nato countries are now united against
Russia in a way that they never have been before.
While most of you were sleeping and having wet dreams about giving the Reds a bloody nose, two things happened:
1. Macron became the leader of the Western "Free World". Someone had to take the mantle since Merkel resigned and Germany's new timid and meek Chancellor Sgt. Scholtz took over. And we can write Biden off, the poor demented pedophile, mumbling and incoherent at every presser. At their joint presser, Sgt. Scholtz declined to confirm Biden's threat to end Nord Stream 2. Pathetic. UK the distant third European power of consequence, lead by another imbecile clown Johnson, is in no position to lead and their bloviating threats again highlight their impotence - as a single actor anyway.
2. Putin is winning. As I told you knuckleheads before, there will be no war. There never was going to be war. Putin acknowledged they would be no match for a combined NATO, but he clearly articulated Russia's ace-in-the-hole for the public and low IQ politicians like AOC. The "off-ramp" has already been defined, that being that any one existing member can deny any new country from joining NATO. While collectively they may make their idiotic statements about sovereignty and requests being open to all - reality will be Russia is going to secure strong written guarantees from one or more relevant NATO members (France, Germany, UK) that Ukraine will not be accepted into NATO. This may be a secret agreement we may not hear about for years. Publicly we're hearing it called "security guarantees".
You can bet that when Putin talks to his French and German counterparts, he will always bring up the fact that it was THEY who invaded Russia in the past (Napoleon and Hitler) and have demonstrated that THEY have proven in the past to be an existential threat to Russia. That is why you are seeing progress toward resolving this crisis. Brain-dead American politicians and punters here think there's some ulterior motive on Putin's part but they're wrong.
America's time has passed, she no longer leads as proven by the fact these events are being solved by European leaders themselves, while a doddering Biden eats bowls of ice cream and flips through pages of Teen Magazine.
Great post, BP

It didn't get cold enough in Europe this winter to maximize the leverage of turning off the gas. There also could have been issues with coordination of other nationalities (primarily Belarus). There is also the matter of needing to keep the Chinese happy and not interfere with coverage of the OlympicsTom Mazanec wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 9:49 amWhy did Russia lay off their move, Navigator?Navigator wrote: ↑Fri Dec 10, 2021 5:14 pmI think the Russians will move vs Ukraine in January, early Feb at the latest.

If I predicted war for Europe in summer of 39 and it happened in September, would I have been wrong?
I think we are pretty close to the Ukraine situation actually happening. How does Putin just have everyone go back home now? (Loss of Face - the Pride Issue)
Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
Macron may think he's the leader of the Western World but no one believes that; probably not even Macron. Too many European countries (especially the ones on the front line) don't trust France to do anything other than look out for the interests of France. This is the expected "France being France" behavior and the Poles and Baltics joined and stay in NATO because they trust the US will back them up; not so much France.Burner Prime wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 9:25 pmI notice you are careful not to say you agree with this analysis, only repeating it. Putin is winning what? Ukraine wasn't even on an action plan to join NATO let alone a short list. I could see Serbia joining before Ukraine and Serbia doesn't even want to join. However, I can see partnerships outside of NATO to upgrade and train Ukraine's military. Russia lost the chance to overrun Ukraine years ago and today would face a bloody slog. Russia's ability is declining year on year as Ukraine modernizes and starts to get a handle on corruption (it is already less corrupt than Russia).2. Putin is winning. As I told you knuckleheads before, there will be no war. There never was going to be war. Russia will never get a written agreement from any NATO country prohibiting Ukraine from joining. At best it might get a wink but that's worthless in terms of future planning since it could repudiated at any time.
In the mean time Russia has shown that it isn't trustworthy and will lead to faster efforts to reduce the the import of Russian gas (except for Germany because it's Germany). He's succeeded in getting NATO on the same page and kicking the more reluctant members (again Germany) into supporting the common line. He's also succeeded in getting European countries to actually start spending on their militaries again because there are only two potential enemies and China can't get to them.
The Finns and Poles will object here. As will the Czechs, Slovaks and Hungarians. You can bet that when Putin talks to his French and German counterparts, he will always bring up the fact that it was THEY who invaded Russia in the past (Napoleon and Hitler) and have demonstrated that THEY have proven in the past to be an existential threat to Russia.
I don't see Europe's leaders solving anything. I see France being France by trying to look important and Germany being Germany burying their heads in the ground while trying to keep making money and the rest of Europe buying new weapons like they're going out of style. Biden may spend most of his day confused, but the US is the only ally trusted by the countries directly imperiled. That is why you are seeing progress toward resolving this crisis. Brain-dead American politicians and punters here think there's some ulterior motive on Putin's part but they're wrong.

I feel lost in the Uk now . It’s not my home country it’s nothing like the feeling I had it’s gone . The feeling of belonging to the land is something you can’t be given but can be taken away . Our history is constantly under attack and made out to be all negative and religion Christianity that been ours for God knows how long 800 years or more is slowly being replaced. I am living in my country that I am starting to hate.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 8:05 pmYes. Exactly. What will be left is native European me. dead or on the front lines and the women, children and elderly left behind with the males and population meant to replace them. The woke Pope is making things worse with his open borders policy and anti- death penalty stance. The Pope doesn't want anyone to be held accountable for anything, unless they are dangerous enough to ask for Latin Mass.
Some people claim Putin is good for the West. Putin has been flooding the West with millions of 3rd world migrants and refugees for years. He weaponized them against the West. Western cities are now giant no-go zones. How did this help the West?
America should expel the Mexicans and other illegals and make the Death penalty effective again. Europe needs to bring back the death penalty and reopen the penal colonies in South America. If not, Europe will end up like Zimbabwe and America will end up as a cross between Zimbabwe and Mexico. Do you want to live like Mexicans? The West will become unlivable.
Big Tech has so heavily censored the Internet that the net is on the brink of becoming useless. Freedom is dying. Big Tech, like the Pope, is a collection of borderless billionaires hell bent on destroying the world.
I don't see anyway out of this, short of civil war.
I'm for civil war.
