I personally cannot see a conflict but if I’m wrong the Russians must be attacked with all our allied might, as China will be next in the South Seas and Taiwan.

If Russia does invade Ukraine, does that mean the China will automatically attack Taiwan and North Korea will attack South Korea? Do people here really believe they working that closely?

Neither China nor North Korea is positioned to attack anyone right now other than maybe throwing some missiles around. It takes time to get troops and supplies into the right areas and that is easily seen; c.f. Russia.

North Korea would have to be monumentally stupid to attack South Korea. With the exception of nuclear weapons (and it is questionable if they could even deliver those) North Korea is militarily inferior in almost every category. The best it could hope for would be flattening parts of Seoul with artillery before the South's air and missile strikes destroyed the few worthwhile things still in the North.

I don't think anyone in the North actually thinks the South could be conquered and just hopes to be left alone to misrule their peasants until the whole edifice collapses.

** 14-Feb-2022 World View: Invasion seems imminent

As you know, I watch news reports and analyses on the Ukraine
situation on BBC, Fox News, MS-NBC, al-Jazeera, CNN, and others.

Russia's army is moving into "ready to attack" positions.

The analyses seems to be converging on an imminent invasion between
Wednesday and Sunday, Feb 16-20. However, there are other analyses
that say that this won't happen.

John Kirby at the Pentagon is not confirming this, but is saying that
Putin could move with little or no warning.

Smart money, based on US news and otherwise, understands that this is all posturing.

Maybe Putin realizes he has bitten off more than he can chew? He might have to bite the bullet and go ahead with it because he is a gangster surrounded by gangsters.
