So they've got to make their move now, because for all the chaos and difficulties the West has, it's in a better state than either China or Russia. Oil and natural gas is all Russia has at this point, and while I think they'll conquer Ukraine in the short term, it's going to cost them dearly.
Why does anyone have to make a move at all? How is the west better? If it is, then wouldn't you just let all the soyboy globohomo stuff continue, and wait them out? American institutions have totally failed Trev0r ... are you kidding? You must be a boomer.

We have a decoupling of the USD was world reserve in process. How does that cost Russia "dearly"?

Some people on here make little sense - if the US/NATO (euro) was in such a strong position, why would Russia be doing what it's doing? It's sorta funny how clueless some people can be here.

One day, CB, you are going to tell us all that this has all been an act, like Joaquin Phoenix as a bearded rapper...

This story is from last night and I waited to post until I saw others of the same line cropping up.

https://redstate.com/bonchie/2022/03/12 ... le-n535267

If this really is a sanctioned Iranian military op against the US... Wow.

And in the time it took to type that out and check my links.

How long is the process likely to take, CB?

The heat generated by an anti tank warhead is sufficient to boil metal. If you are in an armoured vehicle that is hit your death is likely to be horrific.
The fact that thousands of young men are now dead in furtherance of a murdering thief's desire to steal yet more $billions is bad.
The fact that he is apparently supported by the majority of Russians suggests the entire country needs to be isolated. Totally.
Let them holiday in Siberia and live off beetroot. They are obviously not fit to associate with civilised peoples.

Tanks have 4- 5 crew, APC's 2-3 crew+section of ~8 infantry, say average vehicle content 6. With of order 1,000 such vehicles destroyed by Ukrainian missiles, which incinerate all occupants, that's conservatively 6,000 Russian dead.

Alas, the Best Outcome in Ukraine Now May be a Relatively Quick Russian Victory
By Selwyn Duke
Well, imagine it’s April 1945, Hitler knows WWII is lost and he’s sitting in his bunker. Now also imagine, however, that he has Putin’s 6,000 nuclear weapons a button’s touch away. What would he do?
We all know.

The point: Many have theorized that Putin may be physically and/or even mentally unwell. A renowned psychiatrist posits that he may even have Paranoid Personality Disorder. He also wields something uncomfortably close to absolute power in Russia, and it has been said that he has staked everything on this war and cannot lose it. So, while we can’t read his mind, do we really want to risk turning him into a man with nothing to lose, a man who maybe, just perhaps, could descend to a point where all he wants is to see the world burn?

Destruction in Ukraine and the Conflict to Come
By John F. Di Leo
That washing machine we make here depends on a motor and pump from Taiwan. That sump pump we make down the road depends on an impellor and casting from China. That SUV that we proudly make in a Midwest assembly line contains computer chips, printed circuit boards, water pumps, power locks and dashboard instrument clusters sourced from all over Asia.

What happens to the American manufacturing sector when war breaks out in Asia, and the factories we depend on are reduced to rubble?

US official: Russia seeking military aid from China
A U.S. official said Russia asked China for military equipment to use in its invasion of Ukraine, a request that heightened tensions about the ongoing war ahead of a Monday meeting in Rome between top aides for the U.S. and Chinese governments.
https://news.yahoo.com/us-official-russ ... 35197.html

Putin and Xi: Look to Beijing for the real reason behind the Ukraine invasion
Now enter Beijing’s own political objective: Taiwan. Any military adventure that Xi deploys in an effort to unify the “breakaway province” of Taiwan with China likely would be met with an almost immediate sea blockade. Such dependence on the sea is an unacceptable vulnerability for China’s business model; hence, Xi’s desire to create a land bridge for food products and natural resources.

I can't believe how badly the Russian army is doing. I would compare the Russian army to ham fisted boxer who doesn't bother with learning any jabs or foot work. The Russians are just relying on brute force (artillery and missiles). Now they are running low on ammunition and buying it from China. How humiliating.

Bringing in 14,000 Arab fighters from Syria to shore up their troops. Will Russia's humiliation never end?

Now many people are thinking the unthinkable: The Russians will lose.

Unless they resort to chemical weapons and tactical nukes.

Or maybe they will just let the nuclear power plants meltdown?

I guess Americans will have to start building things again.
