I don’t know what his thoughts are, but I estimate before November.

I didn't really notice Trump the candidate in 2016 until I saw a peculiar phenomenon - the democrats, many republicans, the media, and Hollywood all aligned in lockstep against this one guy. What produces such amazing synergy, I wondered? I wasn't really aware of his platform at that time, but I thought "for some reason all these people are TERRIFIED of him." Of course, we all know now why they were/are terrified. He wants to save America, they want to destroy it. An oversimplification, but not far from the truth.

I'm now seeing that since the election of 2020, American economic strength, venerable institutions (including organized religion), civic pride, military preparedness, and any remaining civic unity are being destroyed at an accelerating pace. Were it not for Trump's Supreme Court appointments, as well as Manchin and Sinema, we would quite possibly be completely upended already. I now find myself not being able to imagine the democrats relinquishing power after the Fall elections. Will they find a way to massively cheat? A new pandemic as an excuse for new last-minute mail in ballot liberalization? A crisis to suspend the election? This week's "1/6 prime time debacle" illustrates perfectly just how terrified of November they have become.

The many learned people on this forum know far better than I how this may actually play out, but I am having trouble seeing a happy ending.

Thanks John for keeping our eyes open.

Unfortunately, some of us have livelihoods that do not allow us to abandon urban locales.
Having said that, I'm betting / hoping my modest sized city in a very red state will fare better than the many blue megalopolis hellholes.

Half an acre in the countryside and drive out there with your camper when things start to collapse. If you can make it out on time.

I would guestimate October.

But frankly, I don't know why the wheels haven't fallen off yet.

Ukraine Situation

Here is a very good article on the current situation in Ukraine.

Pay attention to the information regarding ammunition supplies for Ukraine.

A pullback in investment in start-ups is an example of the kind of thing the Federal Reserve is trying to trigger as it works to cool off the economy and lower inflation, said James Wilcox, an economics professor at the University of California at Berkeley. That doesn’t mean a recession.
Maybe the economy won't go south after all...
