for the last couple of days, the news has been massive explosions in two Russian military air bases near moscow. the explosions were from missiles launched from drones. Russia has accused Ukraine of being responsible for the drone attacks, but Ukraine has denied responsibility.

it now appears that the most likely scenario was that the drones were from Ukraine. furthermore, the drones themselves were old Russian drones from the 1980s that the Russians have left behind. they were surveillance drones, but the ukrainians modified them to be able to launch a missile. it's not known how many of these old drones the ukrainians have.

the attack damaged two bombers and killed three servicemen. the attack may lead to further escalation of the war.
