I dunno. I can see the sharp decline with my own eyes, but the ability of the American government to keep limping along is truly amazing.

I am an American married to an EU national, and we bought a small house outside of Bordeaux a few years ago. That was to be our escape from Blade Runner America. That city is now in the midst of an extremely violent African and Arab crime wave. The France that i enjoyed in my youth is long gone. I asked my wife if she still wanted to live outside the city and she said no. The village is connected to Bordeaux by the city's public transportation system. that shows you how close we are to the city.

I telephoned the realtor, he said the price of the house has dropped since we bought it a few years ago. Really? So much for soaring real estate prices. African and and Arab, and whatever migrants (or the children of said third world migrants) have totally destroyed the tranquility that we once enjoyed.

I have lived half my life overseas. I miss America, but the America I miss is no where to be seen.

People are predicting a civil war in the US, but I doubt it. I think we will go the way of South Africa. A brutal and hopeless downward spiral. The elites are so out of touch that when society finally shatters, they will be completely paralyzed and unable to do anything, even escape. This is it. We are done.

I asked my wife what she wants to do now, and she said, "I'm glad we don't have children.'

I told her that I felt the same way.

Biden called Xi Jinping a "dictator," and
the Chinese Communists are insulted.

Biden said:

there. That's a great embarrassment
for dictators. When they didn't know
what happened. That wasn't supposed
to be going where it was. It was
blown off course."

Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson
Mao Ning called the remarks "extremely
absurd" and "irresponsible" and said
they seriously violated facts,
diplomatic protocol and China's
political dignity.

"They're an open political provocation,"
she told a regular briefing.

So what are they waiting for? We have a dead man as president, but I think they know the deep state really runs things.

They produce far more real things currently that we can dream of. Banking on irrationality is a curious thing, when they've pursued their plan methodically and they are clearly winning, while the US degrades extensively.

I think one of the most absurd points of your analysis is that the "US will come together" during a war. We saw recent crises and the buffoons argued against us regarding Covid, something we all know now was a total scam, and even worse - the vaccine injuries happening (and worse) and shutdowns killing people worldwide. We were totally divided on that crisis, and you think we're going to come together when we pursue another war? I think you underestimate how many people in the US and worldwide know the kind of scam Ukraine is.

** 23-Jun-2023 World View: Threats of a coup grow in Mosow

Russia's disastrous invasion of Ukraine, now
well into its second year, is creating splits
and repercusions within the Kremlin.

The pathetic performance of Russia's
military in the last year has caused
much of the fighting on Russia's side to
be taken up by Putin's mercenary
paramility group, the Wagner Group,
which has some 25,000 soldiers in
Ukraine, headed by mercenary leader
Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Prigozhin has for months been openly
accusing Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu
and Russia's top general, Valery
Gerasimov, of rank incompetence and of
denying his forces ammunition and
support.

Tensions escalated sharply on Friday
when Prigozhin accused the Kremlin,
without evidence, of deliberatly bombing
Wagner troops in Ukraine, killing some
2,000 of them. Prigozhin vowed to
"punish" military leaders, and the
Kremlin called for Prigozhin's arrest,
accusing him of attempting a coup.

Tensions are growing in Moscow, and
there are even some reports of tanks on
the street. We should know within a few
days whether this situation will fizzle
out to nothing or else expand to
something approaching a civil war.

Here's some food for thought: If you look at every war Russia has fought over the past two generational saeculums, whenever a war went badly for them that war was ALWAYS followed by a major uprising.

The Russo-Japanese War was followed by the Revolution of 1905. World War I was followed by the February Revolution, the Bolshevik Revolution, and the Russian Civil War. The Soviet-Afghan War was followed by the Revolutions of 1989, the 1991 coup attempt, and the dissolution of the USSR.

And now that the war in Ukraine has become such a stalemate...
