Does this make anyone else feel ill?

If there wasn't enough evidence of a sick and depraved culture that's run it's it's course.... Society always has hypocrisy and unfairness but it's now too much. Everyone will be relieved when we reset to decency and normalcy. We can attest that it's a palpable collective feeling. Lemmings people are. Something not understandable during the better times and really only clearly discernable until recently in rapid fashion.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, virtually all of the public utilities (if they exist at all) are now run by foreign contractors (mostly Chinese). African governments sometimes have over a hundred cabinet ministers and agency heads in their national government, and most, if not all, are incompetent. Most African ministry heads used their office to steal public funds (mostly donated foreign aid) and buy houses in Paris and London.

What happens when the locals in Africa riot and kill the techs and loot the stores of Chinese and Indian merchants? The electricity goes off and they can't buy bread or alcohol. However, the average African doesn't understand that. They are really that ignorant and stupid. That is what I had to deal with in several black countries that I lived in. I am white, and I speak from experience.

I can see this happening now or in the near future in America and the UK, where, like in South Africa, blacks have the position and pay grade while white engineers, doctors, and technicians do all of the hard work and are subjected to humiliation and abuse the entire time. How has this worked out in SA? How do you think it will work out in America and Europe?

I know, I am "racist" for pointing this out, but this is the reality of what Americans and Western Europeans are facing. Nothing will be done to stem the tide. Nothing. What could be done, will not be done, and Americans will end up like me and my surviving family members: white refugees.

It's funny that this response is better than the alternative. That's how sad it is at this point.

Urban violence is really bad now. I had to stop because of a multi car accident on the highway almost 2 months ago. A group of white policemen overseeing the accident site told me to get in and out of a city that I had to visit on business in June as fast I could.

"We aren't allowed to protect you anymore."

I'm ex-military (and look it), so they (all or mostly ex-military) felt comfortable confiding in me.

Let's be honest with ourselves: we're in deep trouble, and I don't see anyone rising up to deal with the situation.

Not surprised.

Ex-military will form into units, but only like individuals. Civil war is in the offing now.

But similar problems are affecting communities across the Puget Sound region, from Wallingford in Seattle to Maple Valley in the suburbs, with the Postal Service hoping to fill as many as 1,000 jobs in Washington in the coming months. The crunch is forcing exhausted mail carriers to work deep into the night and leaving some customers waiting for important deliveries, like prescription medications, pricey packages and Social Security checks.

“Due to continued staffing issues, there may be individual days when a neighborhood may not receive mail,” Postal Service spokesperson Kimberly Frum wrote in an email, declining requests for an interview with the agency. “But we will rotate employees and assignments, and that mail is prioritized for delivery the following day.”

Though the Postal Service is trying to boost hiring and though Congress passed a law last year that could help, union representatives say inadequate wages and grueling hours are causing recruits to burn out and walk away, perpetuating a vicious cycle. Carriers make $19 to $23 an hour to start.

It’s a nationwide crisis, exacerbated by the Seattle area’s high cost of living — for an agency that’s attracted more scrutiny since major Republican Party donor Louis DeJoy was appointed postmaster general in 2020.

“It really is bad,” said Kevin Gottlieb, president at Branch 79 of the National Association of Letter Carriers union, which represents workers in Seattle and in suburbs ranging from Mill Creek up north to Auburn down south. “I’ve been with the post office going on 35 years and I’ve never seen it this bad.”

This article is from February 2023. There doesn't seem to be any updated information in the news, and there doesn't seem to be anything in the ensuing 6 months that would have improved this, except to raise wages and ultimately go deeper into debt.

Following years of political turmoil and a devastating pandemic, “This is kind of like the psychological last straw,” Halsell said. “Now we don’t even have the post office to rely on? My God, our country really is falling apart.”

That's it. Sort of like the recent news about the Miss Universe pageant posted yesterday.

These are my top 3 general characteristics of a civilization that is on the cusp of entering a dark age/has just entered a dark age (in other words, where I think we are right now):

1. Decline in societal standards
2. Functional failure of government
3. Lack of accountability

Each of these should be prefaced by the word extreme, which also applies to the present situation, in my opinion.
