History is rhyming.
Powerful countries often attempt to conquer, control and exploit weaker territories. A mutual dislike is apt to result. Yes, this tendency would have history rhyming a lot.

Israel and Gaza are a bit off that norm. Both Jews and Palestinians believe they held the territories involved for thousands of years, which justifies thousands more. If you hold territory and hate important, you get the same sort of mess.

After the recent win in Argentina, we have another "shocker":

https://apnews.com/article/netherlands- ... 5cab333fcf

It appears almost certain that Trump will win in 2024, no matter who replaces FJB as the Democrat candidate. Efforts to incarcerate him prior to the election will be thwarted by the Supreme Court. If he is not assassinated, we can look forward to some serious changes, all for the better.

Actively deporting the tens of millions of illegal aliens is not practicable, but, if the Republicans also gain control of Congress, we can institute severe penalties for knowingly hiring an illegal alien, which will hopefully lead to mass self-deportation.

Trump learned much from his first term, and he will begin his second term by immediately firing thousands of federal employees in key positions (https://www.govexec.com/workforce/2022/ ... ts/375028/). He also has vetted replacements ready to put in their place. The Supreme Court will back him up.

Educational institutions will see severe defunding unless they stop political indoctrination.

It will once again be safe to assume people are either men or women, and it will be safe to trust your initial impression as to which they are.

The "pie in the sky," which we may not reach, would be the elimination of public sector labor unions. This is an abomination which cannot be allowed to continue, as alluded to by Theodore Roosevlt (https://www.hillsdale.edu/educational-o ... -unionism/) and even FDR (https://www.fdrlibrary.org/unions).

The list goes on.

John, is this how (the bad) deflation begins? Or is it a correction?

Hi guys, one thing that hasn't happened yet is the protesters in Ireland and other European countries and I would say in most of the world haven't realized that the Politicians, cops , media personnel and all the other people who run the systems that are causing them harm , all have houses and people they care about. As the comedian and entertainer Sam Hyde ones said " the world is not dying, it is being murdered and the people that are killing it all have names , faces, and addresses. If this connection happens than I think things will get extra spicy. Now I am not calling for violence, I am pointing out another angle that has not happened yet but is within the realm of possibilities. I am curious about your opinions on this.

The first example I thought of was the obviously criminal Trump instigating violence against witnesses, prosecutors, judges, etc... So far, more threats than actual violence has resulted. The spree killers acting on prejudice might be an unrelated example.

Arguably, any time you treat the different with hate, oppression and death, and the state involves itself in preventing or exaggerating this, you could see something along these lines.

Asian War?

I doubt it will break out. China's economy is a mess. They need the remnants of globalism, one of the few areas that is still working. They need the oil, and don't have a navy capable of defending it in the Indian Ocean. Putin's Ukraine war has let them see what would happen. China has made a lot of enemies, most of whom have started to work together.

Who knows how desperate Xi will get, though. If you have nothing left to do except something stupid...
