Leaded Homicide

I think you guys should just ignore bob. I rarely read any of his posts, but when I read even a small amount to see if he is still out of touch with reality he never fails to show me that he still has no clue about real life. He makes the case that higher crime in the black population is due to factors like lead in gasoline, by the way I have had other libtards make this same argument and not just with gas but also with lead paint. The problem is that whites and asians and other groups also had the same exposure but didn't have the same outcome. On the other hand other groups are much more likely to have two parent households. It's almost as if that is one of the actual reasons for the greater crime rates amongst the black population.
Liar. I made the case that there was a rise in total homicides during the leaded gas era, but did not go into by race. I confirmed we are currently at a 50 year low in crime (barely, sorta), but the reason for that peak should be noted.

There are many reasons for crime. Some apply to race, but leaded gas is not one of them.

A that 50 year crime low has been met with derision.

Assuming the leaded gas hypotheses is correct, you should feel derision only if you are ignorant of the theory. Looking at the crime rate curve, the crime drop will become more distinct over the next several years. I just wouldn't give the Department of Justice, immigration or race relations much of the credit or blame. If anyone wants to avoid giving Biden or the DoJ credit for the crime drop, become a fan of the leaded gas theory.

Also Zero Hedge has an article that is claiming that Israel is planning on increasing the size of their conflict with Hezbolla. If this happens I expect the conflict to grow larger than just Gaza and Lebanon, this will start a lot of politicians screaming for the US to get involved and start sending ground troops. I for one am not gonna die for Israel, if any of you want to go ahead, but I don't think dying for Israel helps the US in anyway , shape or form.
John's prediction of a Middle East War is unfolding before our eyes. It's still slow enough that it seems far away. But the rate of increase is much faster than before. Maybe if we drew a graph of the activity it would illustrate it better. It might look like global debt levels, military activity in Eastern Europe, Korea and the oceans around China. It's all heating up as anticipated and because we've been in hot water long enough, we don't realize there's steam and small bubbles. It doesn't seem humanly possible to think about the horrors of war that we will experience after such a long period of relative peace. But assuming it'll be much worse than WW2 and affect our homeland because we're not resilient and toughened up by being more self sufficient, the suffering and lifestyle change is going to be more shocking than almost anyone can imagine. When the real Middle East War erupts and the horror is seen, we'll see something like Iraq for sure. Many enlisted and went to fight for what was nothing compared to what's coming. Time's just about up and I hope anyone who's got ears to listen is getting their situation in order accordingly.

Please say something John. Trevor, you've had many good posts and posting more often would be appreciated. Navigator too. And all those smart people who have shared their insight here before, give it another try.

I still lurk on this thread. I just don't have a lot to say when it comes to politics. I lean liberal, but not nearly to the same degree as Bob. I live in what could be called "MAGA country", with almost 70% of people voting Trump. Most of my family and co-workers are conservative. I think they're wrong about certain things. I just don't think they're evil, foul racists, motivated by the desire to oppress minorities. Actual white supremacists are usually pathetic losers whose belief their skin color makes them superior is all they have going for them.

I've heard plenty of talk that we're unwilling to fight if anything happens, or posters ranting that they refuse to fight for third-world rabble. Well, public opinion can change quickly, not just against war, but for it. I'm old enough to remember September 11th, when even your bleeding heart liberals were ready to turn Afghanistan into a graveyard. My great-grandmother lived through Pearl Harbor as well, and she told me people's opinion changed almost overnight, to where most people she knew were ready to slaughter everyone in Japan.

We're starting to see this in Europe now. The aid bill held up in Congress for four months put the fear of God into many of them. A year ago, Macron was talking about de-escalation, negotiating with Putin, reluctant on sanctions; now he's talking about sending troops to Ukraine. Poland's considering this as well, as is Finland. The USSR did something similar in Korea and Vietnam, so it's not without precedent.

The EU's starting to realize that Russia's all in on this war, contrary to hopes anti-war movements would bring it to an end. It might not be popular, but Russians are long on resignation, and despite their poor military performance, they can endure enormous pain before breaking. There's also the prospect of facing this without the United States, and it's a huge struggle for them, given they've taken it for granted for 75 years.

I watched Putin's interview with Tucker Carlson. What I noted is that Putin barely mentioned NATO expansion at all. Only when Tucker pushed him on it, and even then, only briefly. He went on and on about the 1600s, wars and conflicts that most Americans have never heard of, let alone possess any knowledge on the subject. This has more to do with Poland than NATO, given the two nations have a centuries-long grudge.

I've always believed that freedom of speech means people like Trevor not being crowded out.
While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.

I could only roll my eyes at Putina's version of history-->absolte bunk which is easily debunked. Putin knows he's lying. The average Russian historian does too.

Russia and N Korea Sign Defense Treaty

https://redstate.com/streiff/2024/06/19 ... a-n2175667

I am seeing this being interpreted as a sign of weakness on the part of Russia, showing their desperation for ammunition and possibly bodies for a war that has lasted much longer than planned for. I have also seen the opinion that this agreement is just a front so the Chinese can push weapons and ammunition to Russia without looking like they are the ones giving support.

Anyone here have any thoughts?
