Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
That Zelenskyy proposal goes from good to preposterous in seconds.
Not only is it nonsensical, it defeats the entire purpose. You lose, puppet pawn. And you bombed Donbas and violated all the treaties in the first place, to make Blinken, Nuland, and American politicians' (Biden, Pelosi, Kerry, Romney) families wealthy.
When Zelenskyy gives up his mansions and boats in Italy and Miami, I'll take NATO seriously.
Not gonna happen.

The story that Zeensky is buying stuff has been debunked by several MSM outlets. I will mention one in Newsweek. The stories apparently started as Russian propaganda.Cool Breeze wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 9:56 pmWhen Zelenskyy gives up his mansions and boats in Italy and Miami, I'll take NATO seriously.

I'm not answering for John. I do know that he's said many times that the forces driving the people to act as they do, the underlying pressures and motivations, those forces are like forces of nature. Trump or any other leader cannot change their course. The powerful winds rocking the ship cannot be stopped but a good captain can steer clear of the rocks and not capsive the ship. There will be a bigger Middle East war. I think the most important thing for Trump is to mend ties with the Russians and turn the global tide in our favour, as Trump has promised. That single thing is by far the most important piece he can play to strengthen our position.spottybrowncow wrote: Tue Dec 03, 2024 8:19 pm Duly noted, and great to hear from you, John.
If you can, we'd love to hear what you think about the impact of Trump's return on the topics you mentioned.
Many (most?) of us never thought we'd be given a potential reprieve from our slide to communism.

I completely agree. John always said that any cooperation between the Russians and Chinese was a temporary "marriage of convenience," because they really don't like or trust each other. I'm sure Trump knows that and will try to exploit it.FullMoon wrote: Wed Dec 04, 2024 11:32 am I think the most important thing for Trump is to mend ties with the Russians and turn the global tide in our favour, as Trump has promised. ** 07-Dec-2024 World View: Syrian Civil War
Syria seems to be collapsing. The
ISIS-linked rebels have captured Aleppo,
Hama, and other cities, and are closing
in on Damascus. Russia and Iran, which
were allies of genocidal leader Bashar
al-Assad, as I reported on in detail ten
years ago, are not available to support
al-Assad this time, since they're tied
up in Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
According to reports, Russia's forces
are pulling out, and Syria's troops are
fleeing into Iraq. Other reports
suggest that al-Assad has fled the
country, but this hasn't been confirmed.
Either way, this looks like a
full-fledged Syrian civil war.
When Russia invaded Ukraine in March
2022, I predicted that it would lead to
WW III, but I didn't know the scenario.
Since then, several things have
happened. Ukraine itself is now
fighting four countries -- Russia,
China, Iran and North Korea. Beyond
that, Israel is now fighting a war on
three fronts, and Trump has warned that
there will be "all hell to pay" if the
hostages aren't released before he
assumes office. And by the way, Iran has
sped up its program of refining uranium,
and is close to having a bomb.

As I've stated, I maintain one of my predictions is the war machine trying to get Trump involved and of course on the side of Israel in 2026. That's when I see it happening, or something bigger, at least.

The Islamic rebels who toppled Assad’s regime after taking over the major cities in Syria, including Damascus, is on video vowing to take Jerusalem next and to free all the Gazans.

Middle East
I am worried that Netanyahu sees himself as clinging to power only if Israel is fighting a major war in the Middle East. Thus, the recent Israeli attacks into Syria. That, and Trump could conceivably come in on the side of Israel. This does not encourage hope for peace in the Middle East. Not sure what to predict other than a continued lack of peace.
Re: Middle East
Agree. I remember when Trump was president and he sabotaged everything and there was war everywhere then Biden came in in made all kinds of peace across the world with his diplomatic wizardry.Bob Butler wrote: Tue Dec 10, 2024 9:40 pm I am worried that Netanyahu sees himself as clinging to power only if Israel is fighting a major war in the Middle East.
