Is there currently a buffer zone between Israel and Lebanon patrolled by the South Lebanese ? I Remember one existed when the South Lebanese Army ( Christian officers and Shia and Christian enlisted ) existed, but today I thought all there was on the Lebanese side of the border was Hezbollah and ineffective U.N. forces and ineffective Lebanese regular army forces.John wrote:
Israel is considering creating a buffer zone inside Syria to protect Israel from Syrian militias. The buffer zone could reach 10 miles inside Syria, and would be modeled on the Lebanese security zone, which is jointly policed by the South Lebanese and Israeli armies.
